Is NC State “better” than Wake Forest? Consider this ...

Wake is 4-1 vs NC State over the past five years.
Last year Wake beat NC State 45-42 ... Wake won the ACC Atlantic Division. Not NC State.
By any rational measure, isn’t Wake Forest obviously the stronger football program.

Last year is not this year and I don't think Wake is better than State. NCS will be the best defense we face all year and their QB can hurt us if we don't get our secondary fixed this week.

Is it logical that State beat us last year and we beat Wake every year? The only way to compare teams is to play then both so we will find out Saturday night.

Not sure why there is such a recently bias in thinking NC State is a terrific program all of a sudden because of one win.
But, you’re right ...Saturday night will decide the issue.

Wake’s program is better than NC State in recent years. Wake always over achieves and NC State under underachieves. Wake’s coaching is superior. Low T Dave D just does not have the ‘it’ factor.

Exactly!
Too many people have the mindset that the number in front of a team tells the whole story. It doesn't.
I would also point out that Wake went to Vanderbilt and beat them soundly. Nastee Taint struggled on the road with East Carolina and honestly should have lost that game.
As far as programs go - I think Clawson is a far better coach than Doerean. But, Nastee Taint typically lands better recruits.
You can typically depend on Wake to win games they are supposed to win as well; where you can't say that about Nan-cee stank. They will lose a game or two that will have you scrathing your head pretty often.
IN short, I agree with you Due West!

NC State has the 2nd best record in the ACC the past 5 seasons, a distant 2nd mind you lol
Wake Forest really gets up to play NC State just like ECU does so it makes it harder on them.

Not the right question, all games are about matchups. My questions about State
1) can their QB handle the considerable pressure our line put on Wakes QB. Didn’t get to him much but were in his face all day. Truly impressive performance.
2) will DJ get the protection he got last week, there were plays where I thought he could finish a Monopoly game back there. Not a knock on DJ he had moments under pressure like the two point conversion but it seemed he had a lot of freedom in the pocket most of the day.
3) how many true freshmen we going to have in defense backfield
4) how will our rookie coaches perform? Will we have an effective game plan that effectively deals with the specific strengths and weaknesses of State.
5) can State perform on the road like they did at home last year.

If their DL whips our OL we could be facing a situation where we can't run the ball and DJ doesn't have time to throw. I'm still not sure our offense can function with DJ under consistent pressure. I've seen enough this year to know DJ can carve people up pretty good when he has time, but he's still looked realllllly shaky under pressure.

Lot of our fans seem convinced last year’s game results will somehow affect Clemson this season.
