I'm sure Ole Miss is not crying too loudly about it. Many SEC teams love playing at least 3 cupcakes for their noncon. They will find another one to come take the bag.
We should offer to take Wakes place and then schedule an Ole Miss return game @ DV further down the line. Having LSU and Ole Miss on the schedule next year would be fun. That would show the A She She cowards how to do it.

Wake is a cupcake game for Ole Miss.
It would be awesome if Clemson was able to take that spot on their schedule. I would love to take a road trip to Oxford for a game.

Wish LK would have said something like, I understand why they did it. They can’t compete with us.

I'm sure we have tried. Your side is probably the issue.
Clemson has always scheduled a second SEC opponent non con other than South Carolina (Georgia, Auburn, Alabama, Texas A&M) in the years we aren't mandated now by the ACC to schedule a non con against Notre Dame.

There is no reason for Wake to play a tough OOC schedule...
Sep 17, 2024, 11:31 AM
|
|
since they have ZERO chance of ever making it to he CFP, so why not load-up on creampuffs, and try to put your players in a position to receive an invitation to a nice bowl game. The exact same thing holds true for the Capons.
Who wouldn't want to go to Boston, New York, Annapolis or El Paso in December?

To be the BEST you got to play the Best. Be sad to buy tickets to a school that doesn't have that attitude.

The most they can hope for is simply to be the best version of themselves they can be which is generally going to be a 6 to 7 win team.

It seems they cancelled earlier in the week which

was prior to 12 month window so I believe $1mil buyout is actually $750K. Interested to know their reasoning and what they have planned. Another dud of a team at home for 2025 or someone that can give them a home game in 2026 for away game this year??? In either case seems to be sulky without some #### good reasoning. Your future buyouts will be a lot higher and people will be wary of you. WF needs to come forward with a good explanation.

I heard about it during the game, about the fifteenth time an Ole Miss player flopped for a free time out.

Don't blame them as the two football programs are worlds apart in terms of talent and emphasis on their football programs. Oregon State is a much better fit...

Whats the incentive to play hard games anyways? If you win then there will be some excuse like they were just banged up from the SEC grind.
If you lose it derails your season.
All you have to really worry about is winning the conference and getting the AQ bid.

Wake just does not need additional revenue (and a beatdown loss). That simple.
