Wait a minute.....

Nov 30, 2018, 2:59 PM

Clemson #1-759 miles from NO
Alabama #4-292 miles from NO
Alabama was 467 miles closer and this was no issue.

Alabama #1-585 miles from Dallas
OU #4-189 miles from Dallas
396 miles away but they could be relocated due to an unfair advantage for OU.

Is the option to change where your bowl game is played at an SECheat perk? Or did we have the option to move to California as well to make it a similar travel for both teams?

I get your point, but Clemson is 590 miles from NOLA.....

You're right, when you type in "Clemson" to the GPS it takes it from Charleston (a clemson building there) to NOLA

I don't understand the outrage here. There were 2 site options, Bama was closer to either one, so that's a flawed argument. So since they win that for either location, do you choose one where many of your fans can travel to (NO), or the one where it will be more difficult for fans to make the trip?

I doubt this reaches the point of outrage, but if we are talking about a matter of fairness for the football teams then it's certainly a debatable point. The Sugar Bowl is an SEC Bowl when it is not a semi final location and so there would be a greater familiarity for both the university and the fans of Alabama. I think this is a comparable situation, so let's see what happens. Maybe the committee can be consistent with placement even if they are not with how they pick the teams.
