Visiting Fan Seeking Advice

Aug 26, 2019, 2:42 PM

I suspect there are many such threads buried in your forum, but I didn't see one immediately.

I am a neutral fan visiting your stadium for Thursday's game against Ga Tech (but will be a full-throated Clemson supporter while visiting - just as I was in your amazing shellacking of Alabama earlier this year). I will be driving down from Asheville on Thursday and will be attending the game by myself.

Anyone have any tips on parking, dining, tailgating, etc.? Anything else I need to know? I do plan to take the long way and drive a portion of the Blue Ridge Parkway on the way down from Asheville, but could be persuaded otherwise if it is not worth the extra hour or so.

I would be happy to pick up some booze along the way to contribute if anyone wants to invite me to their tailgate. :)

BTW, I still need to purchase a ticket if anyone has a single they would like to sell me.

* From the TMI Department: The "Aggie" in my username refers to Utah State, not A&M. I'm in the area to see Utah State v. Wake Forest on Friday and am visiting my sister in Asheville while I am out in your neck of the woods.

If so, You'll get a tailgate invite easier.

;)

BTW, a single ticket is realtively easy to find, probably mor so on a Thursday night. Somebody may gift it to you.

Blue Ridge parkway is well worth the drive (but much slower)

especially if you're used to "less green" areas.

P.S. I've never been to a game where there wasn't at least one ticket available outside the stadium.

But come early, it gets a little crowded (or should I say a "lot crowded") if you're used to Wake Forest games.

Hey, welcome to Tigernet. There are several different forums on here. I would recommend asking advice in The Lounge section of TNet, considering you’re female you’ll get much better advice there.

You’re welcome in advance

You may want to park at Y beach.

The C1 parking lot is like $20 or $25, first come first serve on the day of the game. You shouldn't have a problem getting a spot there. It's about a mile hike to the stadium from there across the center of campus, but that gives you a chance to see campus. C1 is easy to get to as well, just come in on Hwy-76 from Pendleton/Anderson and turn onto Perimeter road and C1 will be on your right.

Hey ChicAggie, I am also form Asheville and have only.....

Aug 26, 2019, 4:06 PM

missed a few home games in the past 38 years as an Asheville resident. First thing, do the BR Parkway on another day. Take I-26 to exit 54, which is highway 25. After you pass The Cliffs at Valley, about 1 mile further, take hwy. 11 to the west and stay on it for about 20+ miles, then left on hwy. 133. This takes you thru Six Mile and then bear right after you go through Six Mile (still on hwy. 133). Stay on 133 all the way into Clemson. Plug N. Clemson Ave. into your GPS. This road parallels Hwy.93 which runs thru campus. There are homes that rent parking spots for $30-$50. After you park, continue down N. Clemson Ave. until it dead ends into Oak St. Take a left and go 100'. You are now at the famous Esso Club. You are welcome to join us at our tailgate in lot 2, spaces 106, 107 (two Suburbans)which is only about a 5-7 minute walk from the Esso. We are in the first row in lot 2 (directly behind the north stands) against a row of trees on the west side of the grass intramural field (lot 2). I hope you enjoy the game!

We are leaving Asheville around 12:30-1:00 pm if you want to follow us. We live off of Pinners Cove Rd./Mills Gap Rd. area of South Asheville. Text me at 828/778 8800 if you want to follow us.

He's not from Asheville, he is visiting Asheville.

Aug 26, 2019, 4:20 PM

So it may be his only chance to do the Parkway/

You can take the BRP

Aug 26, 2019, 4:59 PM

From Asheville all the way to Boone and get on 421 east all the way to Winston Salem. Allow for time. The parkway is 45 mph and you Do Not want a speeding ticket! Other, you’re back in Asheville!

Great info, Keowee! Thanks! I'll text you. I bought a parking pass for the C-1 Commuter lot. I'll plan to park there and take a stroll through campus, but will definitely come find your tailgate. What can I bring? Beer? Liquor? Other?

Re: Hey ChicAggie, I am also form Asheville and have only.....

Typically, visitors need not bring anything. Visitors are usually welcome with open arms and welcome to anything at the tailgate.

Re: Visiting Fan Seeking Advice

Aug 27, 2019, 12:30 AM

Get there before 1:30pm and tailgate!!!
Introduce yourself to anyone, especially closer to the stadium and tell them you're a visitor. You'll be taken care of.

Tickets are dropping in price, so the longer you wait, the better.

Go inside the stadium at least 1hr prior to kickoff. New metal detector rules AND ESPN College Gameday is filming.

2 hours 10 min prior to kickoff, the team will walk through lot five on the west side of the stadium. Walk up and down the lot until you find an opportunity for front row access. High five Trevor Lawrence and Dabo!

Look on the tiger tickets page on this website for a parking pass!!

Welcome my friend. You will find Death Valley full of warm and friendly people, most more than happy to lend a hand or give local advice.

I would recommend hitting the ESSO Club before the game. The foods great and it is the heart and soul of Clemson sports.

I hope you have a great time and enjoy the game.
