I saw that on the local news last night and again this morning. From all the different views and angles, my guesstimate would be that there were a 1000 to 1500 people protesting on both sides. That would be 0.2% - 0.3% of Greenville's 540,000 population.

I moved to Greenville 40 years ago from LA

I was freaking because it was such a small town.
Now it is a big city to me and I actually live in a small town. I'll be in a small town the rest of my life.

Any town over 5000 is too big for me. I hate big cities with a passion.

Meh... no property was vandalized/destroyed and no one

was seriously injured so I'm not sure what the hubbub with the media is all about.
Quite frankly - screaming like a bunch of hysterical children having a melt down in the streets is a total waste of time - especially when it comes to a Supreme Court decision. It's not like the SCOTUS is going to look at these people acting like petulant children and say "our bad" and re-write their decision.
If these people want to make a difference they should start engaging with State legislators (and not with angry, threatening mobs screaming at them) and crafting a civil public relations campaign to garner the public support for the legislation they desire. Actually put pen to paper with proposed legislation that the public can read instead of yelling garbage through a bullhorn on the street.
Throwing outraged fits, temper tantrums, and screaming obscenities in the public square will do nothing towards gaining the support from the majority of the electorate or people that actually write the laws - especially in a State like SC.

It is and it isn't, IMHO.
On one hand, yeah, such displays are indeed a waste of time because they're just formless expressions of anger without any way to constructively address specific grievances. But my observation is, when you see civil unrest and people misbehaving out on the street, it's also a red-flag there is a fundamental disconnect between them and the government that purports to control them...and it would strongly behoove that government to pay attention to the root causes, too.
For instance: Trumpism and MAGA can best be interpreted, IMHO, as "what about us?" What about us, the blue-collar working class of this nation, the ones who go to work, pay our bills, go to Church, are straight, white, and have traditional values? Why is OUR lot in life getting worse and worse with each passing year?
The answer, of course, is because Corporate America outsourced their jobs to Southeast Asia, even as other classes were getting richer and richer. Automation's taking its share too. Immigration isn't helping either.
You see a 1/6 or that big giant trucker strike on the Canadian border, you'd better pay attention, because there's a serious underlying issue there. Otherwise there's always going to be a Donald Trump lying in wait to take advantage of that anger, start spouting that tired old populism...and before you know it, there he is trying to overturn an election.
So when you see thousands of angry women showing up on street corners to protest in one of the deepest-red regions of one of the deepest-red states in America, you ignore that at your peril, because it means there's an issue there that's...significant, and isn't just going to go away no matter how hard you try to ignore it.

The problem for the left is that they have used the public

outrage card so often that it largely falls on deaf ears. The angry, in your face, blocking traffic, obscenity placard and profanity laced screeching has been played so often by the professional leftist protest class that it no longer moves the needle on anything. The majority of non-crazy people just look at it and say - "there they go again" and essentially ignores them. They kill their own message with their ridiculous behavior that smacks of anger and hate and they come off as unhinged to a lot of people.
Unfortunately, some on the right have started down this road as well but are not nearly as organized, funded, or practiced in the modern art of "rage" protest as the left.
I think the last mass public protests in the USA that resulted in long lasting change was the MLK Civil Rights protests of the 60's. MLK never presented their cause through a "day of rage", which in my view has a negative connotation that invites violence. The MLK protestors also didn't damage their cause or credibility through gross distortions of hyperbole but instead stuck to the facts of their grievances. The MLK protesters never lashed out at people with their anger but instead presented themselves in such a respectful, passionate but calm manner that people actually listened to what they were saying. Because of the way they conducted themselves they got people to listen to them and see the rightness of their message that ultimately resulted in change.
Today, we can't seem to stop the screaming, hyperbole, and general vitriol long enough to hear one another...

I would pay a lot of money in 10 or 20 years to see a "where are they now?" documentary following these crazy leftists.
Emily in the Nike shirt...in her 20s spends 8 hr/day looking at her phone. Had lots of first dates. In her 30s goes switch hitter to get some action. Cuts her hair short. Very pissed off that she still has her period. Has 5 or 6 jobs and her bosses are always chit. You can find Emily today frequenting home improvement stores with a scowl on her face.

That bald cop seemingly did come off the top rope. Like, whoa dude, you almost put that guy through Trio's front window. Don't do that. I like their calzones.

Yes. I wasn't there and obviously this was just a short video clip, but yes, it does seem to show an overly aggressive police response. It looks like the cops popped leather clad man in the head while he was down and the throw down of the old bald dude seemed way over the top.
Both sides need to be respectful to each other and if the polling is correct, it would seem the Pro choice folks should have a very decent chance to ultimately restore some of what they want via elections.
