Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

Jul 5, 2022, 7:48 AM

Friday night, went to Shoeless enjoyed several beers.

Saturday, I did nearly nothing, but did shower and leave home to enjoy some BBQ at Monkey Wrench.

Sunday, made some smoked pig shots and took them to a party. Good times.

Monday, failed at my attempt to not spend any money since Wal-Mart sold some expired lunch meat and the chicken intended for supper didn't thaw. Went down to the pro choice protest, but that is for another board. Watched the White Sox blow a golden chance to get back into the AL Central race.

started with chills Friday night, could not get warm, then the loose shitzz came and a low grade fever. Covid negative though. All weekend plans cancelled.

So, I caught up on some shows, including True South, which is the gem of the SEC network, a southern version of Bourdain's stuff, I love John T Edge's take on the south - definitely worth a watch.

Fri - took off work at noon. Finished cutting my ditch. Repaired the baseboard near our shower and recaulked part of the shower.

Sat - Helped mom with some furniture, went to a friend's house and ran the tractor for about 3 hard hours cleaning up. Went to the lake and caught 4 decent bass before meeting wife and BIL and SIL. Striper fishing tough on a busy lake, so caught 3 more bass instead. Went to in-laws

Sun - Took niece out fishing for an hour in the morning. Played in the lake all day with fam.

Mon - Went fishing solo, caught a 12 lb flathead on 8 lb line, 2 bass, and 10 white perch. Played in the lake some more with fam. Drove home around 2:00.

Varied and untraditional

Jul 5, 2022, 8:18 AM

Friday- had a party for our student intern’s last day. She’s off to UGA for vet school.

Saturday- finished prepping the bathroom wall and got 2 coats of paint on. In between, had lunch overlooking the 9th hole at SCC. Beng, does everyone 3 putt (minimum) that hole? Most entertaining was watching the robo caddies tracking the golfers every move.

Sunday - typical mom n them and got final coat with touch ups of paint on.

Monday- cooked a fabulous breakfast of sausage fried eggs and hash browns, removed old toilet and installed a new one. (Not a political statement at all ;) ) who knew sewer flies could live in a septic tank?
Spent the whole day barefoot in boxers and a t-shirt - glorious

Jul 5, 2022, 8:20 AM

Friday - left work early to pick my car up from shop in Greenville. Dinner at home. Crashed early.

Saturday - slept in for the first time in a long time. Went to grocery store with son-of to stock up for the weekend. Removed shower door with daughter-of in assistance. Big time PITA. Luckily, daughter-of thought it was fun to scrape the clear silicone left everywhere. Dinner with wife-of at Schwaben Haus in Greenville. Excellent as always. Hit up Trader Joes to stock up on frozen key lime pies (which are the sheet for $5/ea) and get some more groceries.

Sunday - Mom-of came up with a healthy portion of BBQ from Carolina BBQ in New Ellenton. Btw...for fans of the place, it just changed ownership from the original family. Hope they continue it un-changed. So Mom and I had BBQ, Hash, rice, tater salad, hush puppies and I made a chimichurri skirt steak for wife and daughter [and shells and cheese for picky-arse son-of]. Stripped shower of all joint caulk - also huge pita.

Monday - make 3rd trip to Home Depot for the weekend, caulked shower (not my best work, but acceptable), re-heat BBQ for lunch, fixed a big hibachi chicken and shrimp spread for dinner, neighborhood fireworks show, set-off some of our own in driveway, and finally got to sleep around mid-night.

Solid weekend with some good food.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Sounds like we were both busy in the shower this weekend

Jul 5, 2022, 8:24 AM

with our caulks. I think I still need to recaulk part of the interior...and prob replace the shower door seal.

Jul 5, 2022, 8:26 AM

Friday, RH Sis is out of the country so sat with RH Mom until the overnight sitter came in at 10pm.

Saturday, cleaning, errands, hung out at the music store for a couple of hours, RH Mom had a sitter all day and night but checked in there a few of times during the day. Made sopes for supper, practiced some bass and must have watched something on TV Saturday night but I can't really remember what.

Sunday, lazy morning, grocery run, hike with the pup, back to RH Mom's in the early afternoon until the overnight sitter at 10pm.

Monday, at RH Mom's from 8am to 10pm. Joonyer and DIL came over and we grilled steaks for supper there, but other than that it was mostly a marathon of watching RH Mom's favorite Judge Judy...all freaking day and night.

Some Covids/many Covids, I'm too tired to math it out this morning.

Still on Mountain Time

Jul 5, 2022, 8:42 AM

but the weekend was pretty good.

Friday, not sure

Saturday up for a run but we got out late and the heat KILLED me. Cut the run a little short and walked with wife. Then out to the pool to get sunburned and drink responsibly.

Sunday up for church then lunch then pool. Cut the grass around the pool because my brother hadn't done it all summer and I was gone out west for 10 days so it needed it BAD.

Monday went for a run, cut grass, worked on a proposal for work, then Brixx Pizza and Sam Bush at the USNWC. Thought it would be crowded but it ended up not being. Met Sam at the end of the show, walked and talked with him on the way to his bus. Kids took a picture with him, got a setlist and a couple geetar picks. Pretty pretty good night.

Very nice. You seem to have the same temp cutoff as mine.

Jul 5, 2022, 9:26 AM

My running - if one can call it that - is a three lap circuit. At 90 degrees or less I'm fine. At 95 I often stop at the end of the second, get MissTulsa, and go for a walk. 92 seems to be the magic number, and its an all or nothing thing: fine to that point, then not fine. Interesting, sort of.

Sat/Sun: went up to mountain compound. It was hot but the family had a big Independence Day meal: BBQ, ribs, watermelon, other (lesser) sides, and peach cobbler with homemade ice cream for dessert. Sonof ran around with his cousins and wore himself out. A.

Mon: Wifeof worked. Took sonof to park. it was HOT. We mostly hung out around the house and had a low key day. We finished off the weekend with steak, Conecuh sausage, and corn on the grill, cold watermelon, and key lime pie ice cream. A.

I said eff it, turned on all the lights, threw the women in the mom wagon and shagged ###. made it home in 8 hrs, which was nice with about 45 min worth of stops.

sun - nothing. just slowly unpacked and chilled.

4th - took baby up to the club pool. met some Clemson grads...too young to be Obed® (no offense). neighbor smoked a butt so went over there for beers and treats.

solid 10ish days off the matrix. it was great

Jul 5, 2022, 9:50 AM

For context, APM got back from the beach last Thursday afternoon and had to get to the office to pay contractors, then interviewed some folks on Friday. So lass week was kinda crazy AND Lord did APM ever eat and drink too much at the beach (something about that salt air makes APM gotta have some beers).

Over the weekend I mostly detoxed and slept. Watched some Tour de France, which to me is the equivalent of what golf was to celtic (RIP) - pleasant background noise to rest by.

Went to church Sunday and heard our new pastor preach. Watched that epic GP of Great Britain.

Yesterday I shopped briefly, we went to the pool, grilled out for dinner, went to get ice cream, semi-watched the Barves. Went to bed early.

Detox hurt some yesterday. No booze, no coffee. But I did eat ice cream twice over the weekend. Gotta cut that out, but hey, it was the 4th and you gotta celebrate some kinda way, right?

Jul 5, 2022, 2:23 PM

headed up to Jefferson, NC to visit frands Friday. Got there around 7 and ate dinner and drank drinks for a while then to bed. Got up Saturday and fooled around with wife then goofed around with everyone and had breakfast then all headed to the pool. Had lunch and drinks there until it was time to head back for dinner. Burgers for dinner and sat on their deck watching about a 40 minute fireworks show put on by their neighborhood's developer. A few more drinks and then to bed. Up Sunday to go ride around Boone to let the 17 year old check out the campus. Ate at Dan'l Boone Inn and was less impressed the second time around. Still good though.

Drove back and stopped for an early dinner and drink in Charlotte and then back home. Couple drinks with wife and then Bedtime.

Got up and fooled around and then made breakfast for everyone before heading to grocery to get stuff for dinner. Grilled corn and dogs/sausages for everyone and watched our neighborhood fireworks for a bit before heading to bed.

Got up and went to work today grudgingly.
