Vegas odds on Morris to Southern Cal are 9/1

Sep 30, 2013, 3:00 PM

There are nine names ahead of him with Del Rio the favorite at 3/1.

The fact that his name appears on the list for this particular job demonstrates how respected he has become nationally.

Listened a little to Cowherd during lunch and his name

Sep 30, 2013, 3:02 PM

wasn't even mentioned. Boise St coach was mentioned a lot.

Hope not. More concerned with a mediocre

newer program like UConn wanting him.

I would be very, very surprised if he went to UConn. It's a bad program with no recruiting base and very little in the way of athletes. Chad said earlier this year that it would have to be a really special opporunity for him to leave Clemson. While I don't believe it's impossible to get him out of Clemson, I think it's #### near impossible for UConn to get him out of Clemson. I think Southern Cal or Texas would have to come knocking.

Agree. No way in hades Morris goes to a no-name program like UConn

Screw Calford.

Tammy or Texas Tech would be hard to turn down for him, too

But I think both of those HCs are pretty safe and happy right now.

Del Rio and Sarkesian are the two favorites at this point.

What would Clemson do if Morris left in-season?!

Sep 30, 2013, 3:12 PM

Talk about adjustments.

Simple. Call Mangus to bail him out. Reciprocity rescue.***

And a funny tidbit from DelRios wiki page...

"Keep chopping wood"[edit]
The mantra "Keep chopping wood", introduced by Del Rio during the 2003 season, was intended to indicate how the team would slowly whittle away the huge obstacles in front of them. Del Rio placed a wooden stump and axe in the Jaguars' locker room as a symbol of his rallying cry.
After his teammates had been taking swings at the wood with the axe, Punter Chris Hanson followed suit and seriously wounded his non-kicking foot. Hanson missed the remainder of the 2003 season, being replaced by Mark Royals.[15]

And that is why you are a punter.

SC is a private school with huge money boosters

Sep 30, 2013, 4:02 PM [ in reply to Del Rio seems to be leading candidate right now for USC ]

filthy money rolling around that school/program. They will demand an alum be the next HC and Del Rio or Jeff Fisher will be dangled a stupid amount of money to coach that team. The suits that wear the red blazers and drink scotch at the LA Coliseum during the games will make sure a former Trojan player takes that job.

Del Rio great DC, HC?

Sep 30, 2013, 4:04 PM [ in reply to Del Rio seems to be leading candidate right now for USC ]

He was awesome as DC of Carolina Panthers and has done a good job w/ Denver's D. His HC stint at Jacksonville was pretty awful though.
