Jan 3, 2014, 6:11 AM

Exactly my first thought upon reading the news. While I'm

sure that GT will wish him the best, frankly, his decision may appear to many to be sour grapes over GT's seasons.

He showed he can throw and throw long just not

well. Or consistently. If the triple option is not for him, what is?

I have never thought about how tough a job it must be for Coach Johnson to get a solid QB to come to GaTech. Any highly rated QB has dreams of the NFL. His offense will not get a QB to the NFL, so he is out of the hunt for the blue chip players before he even starts recruiting.

The next problem is that Ga Tech lacks options regarding education. You get a world class education at Tech, no doubt. But it will be in Engineering or Management. So you are stuck trying to find a Quarterback that is okay running the ball 90% of the time, and wants to major in engineering or management. I also imagine that they have some admissions requirement that must be met, and once you are in then you have to make the grades.. All said and done you are trying to find a needle in the hay stack.

Good points. I read they require everyone, regardless of major, to take calculus down there. That alone is going to push away plenty of athletes.

I am quite sure a business, history etc degree from Ga Tech is plenty to get hired in most places if they don;t want to do management or engineering

Let me see, a guy who played QB at Ga Tech, then transferred to Navy, he would probably be hired over 98% of people on this board for any position

You may want to change that to "many positions". He stands no chance to beat me out in my field without the same degree as I have.

I really had no idea they had any other majors

Jan 3, 2014, 11:21 AM [ in reply to Re: Vad Lee transferring from GT ]

Just looked on their web page. I never knew they had any other majors other than engineering. Heck, they even have a liberal arts college. I just always remember looking at the basketball player profiles on the Clemson program/ handouts. Every player was always a management major. I also remember that seemed to be the case for the majority of the football team. Of course I do remember a punter, a few years back that was an engineering major.

That said, the Triple Option is still hard to recruit for.

"The triple option was never really my thing" -what is then?***
