It’s hard to imagine someone willing to damage their body further at that point in life for $45k a season. I would have to imagine that they are still chasing a dream and hope to be picked up by the NFL.
The XFL was really good football before COVID squashed it. I'm really pulling for it to be successful. April - June is such a dead period for sports (minus MLB & PGA) that I think it can get a lot of attention from hardcore football fans.
Kind of what I have thought. Did not know if something about this deal was supposed to be different. Have not really read anything about the players or monies so just wondering if this one had something going for it that the last attempts did not.
I loved it. Going to Tampa Bay Bandit games was great fun! The only time in my life I've been a Spurrier fan.
(And, just to make this a political post, Donald Trump was trying to use it as a stepping stone to get his team into the NFL. Most folks who studied the business aspect of the league say that he was the major person responsible for the demise of the league.)
