If Baylor was up by 15 with 6 minutes to go then that means they don't have much faith in their defense. Think about it, they obviously had the ball and they were up by 3 scores. It was highly improbable that a comeback was likely.

You can count me in amongst the people who are scratching their heads over why , with 6 minutes and up 2 TD's ...you have your star QB in there.
Just not a good move .
Now you got a true FROSH at QB with no real defense ? They may lose 2 or 3 the rest of the way .

I will own it. They were up 15, but still. 2 TD's and a 2 point conversion at 6 min is still crazy to have him in there IMO.

I'm glad none of you in this thread are coaching. 2 TD deficits are made up late very frequently. Just last year Scar lost 2 games -Mizzou and Tenn - later than the time left at Baylor on Sat. This year, Tenn made a name for themselves losing big leads in the 4th quarter. I'm also suspicious of how much y'all know about the game conditions, momentum, timeouts remaining or much of anything else that would have impacted that decision. But you can easily now look back and say, it was wrong. Congratulations - I'll be sure to check next week to see who you think will win this week.

Unless you played more than 18 years of football, I played the game longer than you. Almost half of my has been playing the game. When you are the (one of the) top team in the country, playing a nobody, have the ball, up two TD's, YOU DO NOT RUN YOUR F'NG STARTING QB WITH 6 MIN TO GO IN THE GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You can, but we saw how that worked out, huh.... Baylor routinely played the starting QB in blowouts, up 3-4 scores late in the game. It was not situational, or an exception, it was the standard.

Keeping your starting QB in with 6 minutes left in the 4th quarter with the game within two scores is a no brainer. Any coach with any sense would have him still in the game. If Dabo pulled Watson with 5 minutes left in the Notre Dame game what would you say?

Maybe it wasn't totally over with it being just 15pts, but Baylor - knowing their horrible schedule - was likely trying to break the 60pt number again...so while it was dumb to have their starting QB in there...even DUMBER the dude was running it and trying to get extra yards by putting his head down.

While i find it highly unlikely that Iowa St would have made a comeback, a 15 point game and I doubt Dabo pulls DW4 either. Too many things that can go wrong anyway, then bring a guy In cold risking a bad snap, fumble etc. If this had happened in any of there other games I'd say it was dumb, but in this case, I would have done the same thing. Agree though, he would never have been running the ball.
