Up 35-7 with your gimpy ankle surgery QB

Nov 16, 2019, 1:44 PM

You take him out even if it's the 2nd QUARTER. If he's 100 percent not walking wounded then by all means get your style points. Dumb dumb dumb

There is nothing wrong having your starter in up 35-7 in

the first half...

The bigger issue is that Saban started him in the first place. He was clearly hobbled. That was the mistake, IMO.

I'll bet the #2 QB will get some reps now, want he Mr Saban!!! But if you have to play Clemson with a injured Tua or your #2 QB in the playoffs or the NCG, your chances of losing gets bigger!!!

I totally agree

In a game in which they should blow out their opponent with a similar game coming up next weekend, you sit someone who just had surgery a few weeks ago that has a significant recovery time so he can be ready for the bigger games (i.e. Auburn at the end of the month). Plus it's just the smart thing to do for the player and his future. Tua clearly is not the same QB right now with his ankle not at 100%.

I don't understand Saban's explanation.

"We were gonna let him run the 2 minute offense just for practice."

Tua has started 20+ games. Does he really need practice in running the 2 minute offense?

Sorry, that explanation is a poor excuse at best.

He'll have hip replacement surgery and be back for Auburn.

You could sense that he was not whole... Saban must be demonically chasing that NC...Desperation... And the broadcast guy just commented on the unusual # of penalties...The machine is breaking down...

Saban thought he needed a huge blowout to get back to #4 and he was willing to gamble with his QBs health to get it. Looks like he will get his blowout but he may ultimately lose the gamble.
