I don't know anyone who was actually rooting for FSU and not just rooting for the non-SEC team in that game.

Neither of them really care about football, and they asked why I was so upset about halfway through the second half. "You don't care about FSU", they said. And literally halfway through my sentence "Yea, it's just... I don't want to hear another year of SE..." And the "SEC" chants began. H3ll, I'd take Boise State beating Auburn - Michigan, ND - whoever. I'm just so tired of hearing the SEC crap.

I was pulling for Oklahoma the other night just as much as I was pulling for FSU tonight. Anyone but the SEC!
I would have to think that idea is starting to take hold in all fanbases that aren't in the SEC.

It definitely is. I have heard from fans of other teams outside the southeast and they all have that attitude. Many west coast fans hate the SEC as much as FSU, Clemson, etc. Anything that is force-fed down your throat for 10 years is going to be hated after a while. Especially something as asinine as "they are the unbeatable conference" -SEC team gets beat out of conference- "…..well, still…. SEC! They're so good!"

undertones of sarcasm, and just go over the top with the sarcasm. I started yelling SEC, SEC, SEC at the bar with a mix of CU, SC, 2 die hard Noles Fans, and 1 die hard Auburn fan. It was hard, even for a coot, to not get exactly what I was getting at. USuCk fans were so mad/sad Auburn didn't win. Yes, I was pulling for the team not in the SEC, but I wouldn't have gotten upset like I do when we lose! They were so butt hurt! New slogan: "SC, vicariously the best team in the nation." Anyone who reads this post, please answer a question for me please. TIA. What is SC's greatest achievement in it's 110+ year history of playing football?

It's just that I live in Columbia, and didn't want to hear Chicken State go on and on about their 8th consecutive National Championship. Because of course Florida, Auburn, Alabama, and LSU's championships were actually earned by South Carolina too.
Boggles the mind. The most successful period in Chicken State history, and they still try to ride the coattails of others.
