Don't think you can play DW against SCAr

They play too dirty. They'll be going at his knee from the jump. Then we might have brawl #2. Not worth mortgaging the future success of our team to end a streak to those dirtbags. Take the hit and 63-17 them next yr at WillyB.

You never know schussler might surprise but to risk DW for the rest of his career to win a rivalry game against a irrelevant opponent, hurts the ego, but doesn't matter. We have a legit chance to do something nationally in the coming years with DW. First time I can say that with a glimmer of credibility in the last 30 years. But if you mortgage it on a dum hope to end a streak then you get what you get. Sprained knees are never good to go in 2 weeks.

http://www.garnetandblackattack.com/2013/10/25/4947004/connor-shaw-injury-south-caorlina-missouri
When Connor Shaw hit the turf in Neyland Stadium last Saturday, it looked like the Volunteers might have ended yet another season via shredded knee ligaments.
But Gamecock fans got excellent news when they found out that Shaw had merely sprained his LCL and MCL. (I guess we ended up losing anyway, but is anyone else glad that play didn't get reviewed?) But even that diagnosis left most assuming that the senior signal-caller would miss at least two to three weeks. That is, until Steve Spurrier spoke at his Tuesday press conference:
"Connor Shaw we don't know about. He may be able to be able to dress and be a backup. We don't know. But Dylan is definitely going to start the game, and it'll be his his game to go with."
Quarterbacks coach G.A. Mangus was even more coy in his choice of words following Wednesday's practice:
"Hopefully he'll be able to do a little something if asked for Saturday... You never know. We'll see. He's getting better every day."
.....................................
as we all know, Connor Shaw played the next week against Missouri, coming in to rally the Cluckers to a victory.
Don't let any Clucker fans tell you that Watson shouldn't play.

Shaw's injury was worse than DWs. And DW will actually get to rest for 2 weeks.
DW is playing vs the coots.

Response. Bad idea. Can't see him playing without at least 3-4 weeks of rest and rehab. Kids a freshman.

They did go against Tennessee, who's line is significantly worse, believe it or not.

with all due respect, please learn your facts. as people have already posted, the injury is not severe and requires only a couple weeks for healing.
if it comes time for the SC game and they believe he isn't ready, they won't play him. however, that is not going to be the case. we aren't going to sit him in fear that he "may" get hurt. in that case, they should never play him again.

where did you get that prognosis? Tigernet??

its case by case basis. could be anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months based on the severity and individual. Rush him back and you may not see him at all next year.

I hope we do not play him the rest of the season. We need to get him healthy and protect his long term future.

To be honest that just sounds like a preemptive excuse for another loss. So when they're celebrating again we can be like, "Oh you silly fools. We have much bigger things to worry about than this trivial rivalry with you." Basically the same thing I heard from a lot of other Clemson fans in 2009 and 2011 when they were saying we were more worried about the ACC championship game. If Watson is cleared to play, he needs to play. This streak needs to end.
