Underestimate Wes Goodwin at your own risk.

... based on Dabo's comments on Renfrow way back when ...
Accountant > Renfrow Tech Support > Goodwin
They may not "fit the stereotype" by how they look ... but they deliver the goods on each and every play!
GO TIGERS!!

It makes no difference what so ever what anybody outside of T-Nation thinks about Clemson, or what Dabo believes will be best for OUR Clemson FB program bc, they have none of their hard earned money invested into anything Clemson University, and especially the sports programs that wears the Clemson University Brand.
However, I do believe that Dabo knows without any doubts, for him to continue to keep the huge fan support that he has earned over the past 8,9,10 years, every hire that he makes has to be capable of continuing that success. He is around these guys that he has placed in a leadership role after BV, and Tony has moved on to be HCs, and he knows them much better than he knows anyone he could have brought in from the outside.
By working around these guys for years, and knowing their character, FB knowledge they have developed over the years, and their dedication of getting themselves prepared to have the chance that Dabo has trusted them to have, I know that they will work their butts off to prove that Dabo made the right choice with them.
It's no less, or no more than a 50/50 chance of his coordinator hires failing, or succeeding, and Dabo will have to deal with either if ever the time comes that one of his choices fail. If either of the coordinators fail, I'm sure that Dabo will interview and hire the best that he can get from the outside of his program. But be sure that Dabo will continue to groom his people from within the program to take over jobs that are vacated, and left open bc of someone moving on to better themselves...
I could be 100% wrong, but I believe that Streeter will be the first to show improvement on the offensive side of the ball. And I'm 100% in that belief bc, BV is going to be a very tough act to follow in replacing him. Honestly, I don't know of any DC in college FB today that could come in and improve on what BV done with our defense for 10 plus years, year in and year out.
OU fans believe that BV is going to bring to OU what he done at Clemson, but that isn't going to happen bc the amount of time that BV had to put into his defense at Clemson won't be possible at OU bc, his time as the HC will now be split into everything that makes a team operate from the water boy to the field keeper, and everything in between will be BV's job as the HC!!!! And I just don't believe that BV can compete with Dabo as a FB program CEO, and CEO is exactly what Dabo has been for our FB program, and he has been a h&11 of a CEO for our FB program the past 13 years!!!!!

I was disappointed that we didn't cast a wider net for DC (Gary Patterson was available for pete's sake). That said Dabo has earned the benefit of the doubt on his hires but I have never heard of this guy and while he may be great, the questions are:
1. Can he recruit like V did? 2. Can he game plan like V did? 3. Can he adjust plans like V did? 4. Will his D's continue to be amongst the lead nationally in Tackles for Loss, points against, total D etc. - V was top ten for 7 of the last 8 years.
I hope he can but I wouldn't be shocked if this guy is a Billy Napier (going to be good but not yet)
Time will Tell! Hoping for the Best!
Go Tigers....
