I know she's being tongue-in-cheek, but ...
Some places essentially have a waiting period, much longer in the case of NC. Watching videos is not a bad idea either - easy to do while waiting at some stage of the process. It never hurts to keep harping on gun safety.

you have to get a pistol permit from the sheriff's office. Huge hassle. Then you have the waiting period to get the certificate. Then you go and fill out the paperwork promising you are not an idiot....but that is where the breakdown begins. They call NICS and if you have no felonies, you are basically in and buying the gun.
The NICS part is where it all needs to get fixed.

I pay state taxes in more than one state. So, yes...yes I do.
Also, the 22 budget will drop the Hyde Amendment altogether, so everyone will be.

your taxes pay for someone to buy a hamburger, or a couch, or heroin.
You pay your taxes, as the law prescribes. That's your responsibility.
The government spends money, as they decide to legislate. That's not on you. That's on them.
Your responsibility for how the government spends money only goes so far as your responsibility for choosing the people who make that decision. If you vote for candidates who are not in favor of bad spending, then you are fulfilled your moral obligation.
