If I were Texas or Oklahoma I’d be lobbying hard…

to be the team placed in the SEC East. Missouri is not nearly as talented as the Sooners or Longhorns, and they won multiple SEC East division titles with surprising ease.

Just move Alabama to the East and multiple problems are solved.

I don't see Texas going anywhere and except for Tennessee, all of Alabama's historical rivals are in the West.

If you move Auburn over with Alabama to make room for Texas and Oklahoma in the West then it solves the biggest part of the rival problem.

If.... Texas, or Oklahoma ,I'd be lobbying hard to stay put in the Big 12.

So right for many reasons, including they could still win that dovision

Jul 22, 2021, 7:39 AM

Without playing defense.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

True but it hasn’t paid off for Mizzou in the long run.

Jul 22, 2021, 7:41 AM

Having to play down to their SEC East competition has taken a huge toll on that program. Same thing happened to Maryland when they left the ACC. You may walk into a weak conference and seemingly go from being bad/mediocre to dominant but once you get used to playing downgraded competition it’s a slippery slope that is difficult to recover from as program.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

SEC only wants Texas so

USuC leaving the ACC....

Jul 22, 2021, 8:48 AM

Was the worst thing that ever happened to that University. With the conference realignments, changes in college football, the idiot(s) at USuC who decided this should be donkey punched. Seriously, who thought that not being part of a conference (an independent) was a good idea. Then having to join the SEC because they burnt the ACC bridge.

badge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

News from USuC...
"Richardson was the 20th Gamecock arrested since Spurrier was hired in Nov. 2004"

Fluxus®
"As I watched the game yesterday I couldn't help but feel crushed. We beat Furman by 4 TDs, but to me it looked like we got whipped."

"George Bush, we are reliably informed by the media, has the IQ of a moron, though how he matriculated from Yale and Harvard or flew an F-106 will remain an unexplained mystery. Doubtless his father bribed the airplane to fly itself."

While there were other contributing factors...

Jul 22, 2021, 9:12 AM

uof6c decision to leave the ACC occurred largely because of Frank McGuire and his continuing acrimony over the leagues 800-rule (the minimum SAT score required for admission to an ACC member school). McGuire believe this was a deliberate attempt to compromise uof6c's ability to recruit. The decision to leave the ACC nearly bankrupted their athletic department.

Ironically, the 800-rule controversy was resolved shortly after uof6c left the league when two students at Clemson filed a lawsuit in federal court against Clemson and the ACC. Their attorneys argued that the 800-rule deprived them of their Constitutional rights under the 14th amendment since the rule applied only to athletes. A federal court ruled that the ACC’s 800 standard was “arbitrary and capricious”, and was “not based on valid reasoning”, as it set a standard for athletes that did not apply to other students. Just three days after uof6c left the ACC, the league dropped the 800-rule.

I think they would go with the pod system.............

Jul 22, 2021, 8:55 AM

Because they would need to move alabama and auburn to the east in the current system to satisfy their desire to keep rivalries with georgia and tennessee. If they do 4 team pods they could have a system where you you play your 3 pod opponents and then continue to play the rivals.
