They were supposed to play OU but the SEC office made them drop it over the uncertainty over OU and Texas joining the conference this year. How stupid. SEC could have just designated that a noncon game had OU joined this fall. Now that OU is staying in the Big 12 this fall makes them look cowardly. I hope that strength of schedule trips them up this year in making the playoff.

Wish you were right, but they will be worshipped due to the hype given to the sec by their owners, esecpn, and they will skate through to the playoffs. Hopefully, somebody named Clemson is there at the end to offer a real challenge. We've got to make some vast improvements to be that team, though. We'll see, but get ready for another year of the hype.

They should be furious with the "Bama Loving" SEC office in Birmingham. UGA against Venables and OU would have been an interesting and entertaining game this fall and great for TV.

Same reason y'all never play Miami or Va Tech.
It's definitely a weaker schedule than we usually play - because of Oklahoma getting canned. But exactly how much weaker than other schedules is it? I mean our opponents' combined record from last year is 80-70. Compare that to Clemson's opponents combined record of 85-66, that's less than half a game difference per opponent. Not a huge difference.
And it's not our fault Georgia Tech sucks, or that Florida and Auburn are down.

We literally just played Miami this past season and as well as this upcoming season. We are also schedule to play Virginia Tech in 2024. Even though Virginia Tech has not been relevant for a few years now.

You've played Miami something like 8 times since they joined the ACC about 20 years ago. In that same time, we've played Alabama 9 times (plus twice in the prior 2 seasons).
But the answer is the same. It's because they're both cross-divisional games. But of course, I'd guess you actually know that.

As you’ve just said the two times you played Alabama in the last two seasons was in post season not regular season play. My point is that the $EC makes it so you never play them in the regular season.

Oh brother. Since 2002 we've played Bama 6 times in the regular season. Since 2004 (when they joined the conference) you've played Miami 7 times in the regular season. Not much difference there.
We've also played LSU 6 times while you've played VaTech 6 times. Again, not much difference.
The ACC revamped the conference schedule starting this year when they got rid of divisions, otherwise it would have been a while longer until you played Miami again.

Never? UGA played Bama in the regular season as recently as 2020.
