MR has to have a great season or he is on the hot seat. A season opening loss to Clemson would put them behind the 8 ball to start with.

He can't stand for back-to-back losses to Clemson... Just

the stigma of losing to an ACC opponent doesn't rest well. If there is something that might help alter that, it's going to happen. Nobody at the SEC home office will make a peep (thank you, Ms. Slime... I meant Slive). Expect GA's boys to get a pass. Don't expect it from Dabo. That's OK. Clemson goes to Athens and kicks that A$$ by 10+ regardless of suspensions. Being picked as a one of the favorites to win the SEC East helps Clemson's chances early. Going to 'Tally' will be just that, "taking a tally". 3 of FSU's OLs are projected as Top 10 OL picks for next year's draft. Some of our guys MUST change that early. If Clemson wants to win this game, the D has to basically take it over... dominate. It CAN happen....

LOL I am sure they've handled their days off from having to practice quite nicely.
Richt has no clue what discipline means.

He's a joke, his program is a joke
Apr 22, 2014, 7:05 PM

He's been a joke for years and has the wool pulled over a lot of eyes because of what he portrays himself as. That program can't lose enough for me. Next to the Chickens, UGa is number 2 on my despise list and I hope Richt stays there for 20 more years and underachieves over and over. The NFL is loaded with former UGa players, meanwhile they lead the nation year after year with off the field crap and 3 and 4 loss seasons with virtually as much talent on the field as any 2 teams put together in the nation. They are a joke.

The statment about the players have been doing well. I can agree to that. They definitely not going to go rob a bank a few weeks after being arrested. Not when the WORLD SPOTLIGHT is on you at all times during the period before COURT. That you be like shooting yourself in the foot to end your college football season. Not likely to happen.

Historically, please tell me who's more transparent, just and swift with punishment than Mark Richt and UGA. The charges were misdemeanors. Dabo hasn't revealed what your four suspended players were guilty of......why the backlash against Richt for saying he may or may not reveal the remainder of his punishment.
Per Richt: “They’ve handled the discipline I’ve given them to this point,” Richt said. “There probably will be a little bit more before it’s over. I’ll let y’all know when. Maybe I will; maybe I won’t. But if there’s something to announce I’ll announce it. But to this point they’ve at least done what I’ve asked them to do what I’ve asked them to do.”

Maybe the Clemson players didn't break the law?
They could face up to 18 months in county jail. If the players from Clemson did something that could have them locked up for an extended period of time, then I'm sure it would be disclosed. I mean, it isn't like Mark Richt came out and said that they got in trouble.

Hey, I'm ok with it if Dabo doesn't want to reveal their violations just don't blast Richt if he makes a similar decision.

Dabo did not reveal the violations but did state it was team rules were broken. But he did also say it had nothing to do with any law enforcement or breaking the law. Your guys broke the law and were arrested.

I think announcing punishment and announcing reason for

[ in reply to Re: UGA Players Punishments ] |

punishment are different. I personally think it's better to say how they are punished and keep any wrong-doing in house, but I understand coaches have a lot of time to assess over the summer and see how players respond. Sometimes the waiting is worse than the knowing.
Besides, hasn't Dabo said these suspensions were team rules?
Regardless, Dabo did something similar with Sammy two years ago, when I believe a number of people were landblasting him for not announcing punishment and saying he'd miss no games, when that turned out to be entirely false. So I'm not entirely against withholding some punishment announcements, but I believe Sammy's was technically a misdemeanor as well?
