I was talking to a client earlier this morning..

who also happens to be a member of Augusta National.

I asked him about the upcoming Masters and he pretty much said the same thing. He said the Tournament wouldn't be cancelled but discussions are ongoing about the possibility of limiting if not eliminating patron attendance, completely closing the practice rounds, and possibly canceling the Par-3.

Sometimes good things fall apart so better things can fall together.

A huge advantage for golf continuing its regularly scheduled events is that athletes are not allowed to touch each other's balls like in other sports.

That right there almost got a spit take TigersO. Even for us amateurs they have ball washers throughout the course.

Those mud wipers scattered around a golf course are hardly going to get rid of a virus.

Or are you playing at a more elite amateur golf course than I am and they actually have people there to sanitize your balls for you?

Used to have my own personal caddy/ball sanitizer but we divorced. So your saying muddy water isn’t an effective disinfectant? Our corpsmen used to tell us to “rub dirt on it”.

will ultimately see a Masters played with no crowd which might be a stranger sight than the NCAAT or anything else being played without fans.

The Masters makes so much money from TV revenue that it would take a lot for it to be cancelled. There's a lot of room on a golf course and very, very limited personal contact so it should be safe in general. Numerous golfers would likely have to be sick with coronavirus for the event to be outright cancelled.
