Full disclosure, this is a story full of them feels.
I'm a "survivor" of a benign brain tumor, and surgery for removal. I was young, and surely more resilient than I am at my age now. Shortly after, for me, I'd return for frequent checkups to doctors seeing patients with terminal, malignant, varieties and would spend time with them often. I've been lucky to meet some of the nicest people ever, that mostly knew their destiny. Many others with subliminal hope. Always very touching. I made a point to visit the pediatric ward when allowed during later checkups just to talk, take gifts, and really count my lucky stars. But many still have my heart strings today. Whether some made it or not, I hope they knew many people cared.
Really hate to hear about such a young person losing their battle. Fuck cancer! Hopefully we progress to cure(s) sooner than later.
