Clemson relies heavily on the "uniqueness" of

Apr 15, 2021, 8:57 AM

Clemson, and of the leader of the program, Dabo Swinney, to win recruiting battles. That being said, don't you think this prolonged NCAA recruiting "dead" period caused by Covid has hurt us more than other schools on the recruiting trail? If we can't get kids on campus, we cannot sell them firsthand on the uniqueness of the Clemson experience. Digital interfacing can only do so much. It will never be an equal, or acceptable substitute to on campus visits.

We're just starting to really feel the effects

Apr 15, 2021, 9:43 AM

The 2021 class was fantastic, right around 3rd in average recruit rating. If we got hurt there, we didn't feel it much.

2022 and beyond is a different story. Most kids we get have relationships built up over a couple of years and they visit a lot, and the 2022 and 2023 kids couldn't do that this past year. I'm worried it will hit us in those classes much worse than 2021.

So everybody get your gol dern vaccines so we can move past this thing and get back to normal!

So you think if 100% of people get the Vaccine COVID is going away? No offense but COVID is not like Polio. It’s not a one time vaccine that you don’t need another in your life time. COVID is much like the flu in that it is said to mutate. If that is true then we would have to get a yearly Vaccine and I have seen that the Flu vaccine is fairly ineffective. So with that being said COVID is here and ain’t going anywhere. We just have to learn to live with it.

You're comparing apples and oranges at this point

There isn't nearly enough data on COVID-19's long term resistance to the vaccine yet, but we do have data showing our new cases have reduced by two-thirds since starting the vaccine roll out.

I never said I thought COVID-19 was going away, so stop putting words in my mouth. I said everyone should get vaccinated so we can open things up and get back to normal, and that's still true. Yes, we will have to continue to live with it, but there is a day when things will go back to some semblance of "normal", and the vaccine makes that day sooner.

Stop looking for fights, and stop comparing something worse than the flu to the flu.

Stop putting words in my mouth. I said “Like the Flu it mutates” never said it wasn’t worse than the flue. As a matter of fact studies show it mutates faster than the flu. And NO getting vaccinated does not move us towards normalcy faster. The Media and politics is why we are still in this life style. And the infection rate has dropped because We’re getting into spring and summer. Same happened last year without vaccine. When winter in 2021-2022 hits cases will rise again. COVID-19 will become a seasonal thing and we will learn to live with it. But you like everyone in America have a right to feel, believe and say what you want. That’s part of being an American. Not judging you negatively because you don’t see things the way I do.

Why not the flu is nonexistent since covid arrived.

NCAA dead period isn't ending any time soon...

Apr 15, 2021, 10:22 AM

Our staff has to adjust.

Waiting on the NCAA to get its head out of its ### is not an option.

Well wouldn't that be the case with every school not bringing kids on campus? I would think Clemson would be on top of the game as anyone with virtual visits.
