List of my favorite cable series ever. Also,

miniseries (only 1 season) like Band of Brothers, John Adams, and Pacific aren't series and don't count.
1. The Wire 2. The Sopranos 3. Breaking Bad 4. Treme (when Steve Earle, Allen Toussaint, Dr. John, Rebirth Brass Band, Kermit Ruffin, Trombone Shorty, and Galactic appear and play music pretty regular, it has to be good). 5. Mad Men 6. Curb Your Enthusiasm 7. Bosch 8. Ray Donovan 9. Six Feet Under 10. Boardwalk Empire

I want to watch Treme just for the tunes, but never have.

No show has felt as "real" as that one did. Shows like "The Shield" or "NYPD blue" to me came close but they always felt like they were trying to be gritty and real, whereas, The Wire just felt like reality. With the way the world is right now, I think my interests are in wanting escapism more than reflection in the shows I watch so I doubt I'll rewatch the show for a long time.
And of course, Omar is probably one of the best TV characters of the last few decades.

10 years later, there were many places that looked the same. FF to now, my nephew lives there...same story. It's a sad town in some parts.

It's outdated, sure. But I'm wondering why they quit posting over a decade ago? They could have easily monetized this more.

1. The Wire - You nailed it. Best show in the history of TV. Period. 2. Breaking Bad 3. Sopranos 4. Boardwalk 5. Ozark 6. Yellowstone
I'd probably mix up rankings depending on how #5 and 6 finish.

Never even heard of alot of those shows. I never watched the HBO/Showtime stuff because I never had any of those channels. Most of mine are older, I don't watch much TV any more.
the ones I can think of, ones I deemed worthy of recording if I couldn't watch "live":
1. X-Files - think I saw all of them, and again in syndication 2. Miami Vice - any show that made you wait until 10pm on Fridays to go out must be good. It was must-see. 3. Walking Dead (but I finally tired of it) 4. Justified - Boyd Crowder was hilarious, loved his antics 5. 24 - Jack Bauer. Baddassssssss.

if "30 for 30" counts as a series, put that one down. All the Hitler Channel war docs, History Channel, Nat Geo, nature & history educational stuff is more my speed.
