And the nominees for the Rock &Roll Hall of Fame are...

Kate Bush DEVO Chaka Khan Carole King LL Cool J New York Dolls Rage Against the Machine Todd Rundgren Tina Turner
JAY-Z Mary J. Blige Foo Fighters Dionne Warwick Iron Maiden The Go-Go’s Fela Kuti
Three I've never heard of and least five did not do rock music, but Todd Rundgren, Foo Fighters and Iron Maiden I definitely agree with. Thoughts youse guys? Any other names you'd like to see added?

I saw them on Saturday Night Live in 1978 and immediately went out and bought their first record. It's an iconic record that defies genre pigeonholing other than the all-encompassing 'New Wave' tag. They sort of morphed into a pop band as they progressed but there is no denying the band's talent, and Mark Mothersbaugh went on to an incredible career doing a lot of TV and movie soundtrack stuff.

Kate Bush - I've heard OF her... no opinion. DEVO - Get the eff out... no way dude. PASS Chaka Khan - same as above... get real. Carole King - I have a bunch of my mom's carole king albums... never played them. she kinda hot, doe. LL Cool J - rock and roll??? nope. not even for rap. maybe if there was a HOF for licking your lips... New York Dolls - who? Rage Against the Machine - oh heck yes. love some RATM Todd Rundgren - same as carole king... have a ton of his albums from my mom... nevever listend. he's not as hot as carole king. Tina Turner - I'ma say no, but I'm okay if she gets in.
JAY-Z - if it's normal to let in rappers, Jigga Man is a lock. Sure, let him in. Mary J. Blige - whack. Just not my cup of tea. Foo Fighters - NO brainer. Consumate Rock and Roll. Killer choice!!! Dionne Warwick - heard OF her... no opinion. Iron Maiden - not a huge fan, but I'm sure they're an epic rock band that deserves to get in. illallowit.gif The Go-Go’s - not a huge fan, but illallowit.gif Fela Kuti - huh? no clue.

and Tina Turner are by far the most deserving. There are several others on the list deserving as well, but those four had a huge impact on music as both artists AND influencers. I might even have put the Go-Go's in there when you consider their accomplishments as a female band in the male dominated world of rock music.
Definitely some iconic rap acts up for consideration as well, but that's just going to get me started on the travesty of calling it the 'Rock and Roll Hall Of Fame' instead of the more appropriate 'American Popular Music Hall Of Fame'.

Hard to believe Carole King is not already in.

Rundgren is ok, but not sure why he gets in a Hall of Fame, but I can say that about 75% of those already in.
And never liked the NY Dolls, but they were trend setters.

Say, is Nirvana already in? If so, and the Foo's get voted in, that would make Dave Grohl a two time HOA'er.

And Thin Lizzy is a serious head-scratcher in terms of influence and critic's approval. Like every other organization on the planet, it's fallen victim to politics and perception. Which is ironic, given the history and where rock music started as a rebellious art form.

musical chops and really got unfairly pigeonholed as an 80's novelty chick act. With that said, I'm not sure their overall body of work is uniformly excellent (or large) enough to merit inclusion.
