Louisville trip

Nov 7, 2021, 5:50 PM

Great trip. Lived in Louisville briefly as a youngster and went to see the townhomes we lived in for the first time in 50 years. While the game itself was poorly attended and lacked the intensity this game has often had, the pregame was great fun. The Alley in the shadow of the stadium was a fantastic pregame site with solid band, cheap booze, and plenty of big screens with games on. Sat in the Brown and Williamson Club for the game. Bought tickets right before kickoff for $39. It's a little threadbare but the people could not have been nicer and we all agreed we would watch two struggling teams in peace with readily available bourbon. (It's being rechristined next year as the Angel's Envy Club so I expect a quality upgrade.) Will definitely go back.

I could almost picture being there. How was the temperature? Looked pretty cold on TV. Not like a winter chill but brisk.

High of 60, low of 31. Definitely felt the temperature change in the second half.

That’s what I would have imagined.

Once the bourbon fades it’s gets even colder.

Booze at The Alley

Nov 7, 2021, 6:02 PM

The Alley is apparently a UL joint with a local construction company. Beer selection was horrible if you're a craft fan but booze prices were shockingly awesome. Jack? $6. Woodford? $6. Angel's Envy? $6. My kind of place.

Boston # 1 and Louisville #2 are our favorite road games. Lot of sightseeing in both and some great food.

Boston #1 for our family too.***

We're doing Boston next year.

We do at least one road trip a year and Boston is next year. Also South Bend because of course.

I was at the Alley as well for about 4 hrs with a few buddies and my pops. Definitely an awesome place and most fans were pretty great! The booze was def cheaper there than in the stadium ??. But it was a nice set up and right across the street from the entrance. But was disappointed in there fan turn out overall in the game. I’d say at most 60 percent full and that didn’t last long.
