Tough times in the Obed house.

Rough spell going on right now that I'm working through.

First, my son came out to me last week. I've been struggling with how to cope with this because he's clearly a different person than I thought he was and I'm not sure where he's getting these feelings and emotions. You see, we were at Kroger grocery shopping, and when we got to the peanut butter aisle he said "Dad, can we get the crunchy Jif? I like it better but you never buy it." I haven't spoken to him since but I have to sooner or later.

Secondly, my daughter has now discovered Glee on our streaming services. I put up with this abomination of a show for yeeeears as my wife watched it. It's like Grease meets Saved by the Bell except 80% of the characters are flaming, Richard Simmons, rollerblading gay. That's fine, but when they're singing bad 80's songs badly, it's more than a man can take. I thought I was done with it when my wife stopped watching 10+ years ago, but now every time I walk in a room where my daughter is there's a man with heavy makeup on TV snapping his fingers and singing Footloose or similar.

Please keep me in your thoughts.
