Top 100 College QBs
Mar 31, 2022, 5:09 PM
|
|
y'all see this?
instant feedback: ain't no way in hell you can rank michael vick ahead of DW4. I'd put DW4 in the top 10, with TLaw right on the bubble.
Justin Fields ahead of Charlie Ward? #####
I don't believe I could put Baker in my top 10.
I have Tebow and Leinart a very close 1 - 2, then Peyton. Peyton has to be the only QB in the top 10 to not win a title, IMO.
Fun list to read...tough to really put people in the right order outside of the top 20.

It is tough to rank across generations and with all the different styles of play.
Brees is WAY too high (assuming we are only looking at college). I think Marino is way too high for the same reason.
DW has to be in the top 10. Lamar Jackson at 37?! Seems way too low
Too high: Baker Mayfield, Marcus Mariota, Mac Jones (l.o.l.), Chris Leak, Mahomes.
Too low: Watson, Archie Manning,Namath.

would be #1 for me and thenTebow, Leinart, and Young.
I'd have TL16 around 10 and DW4 right behind.

Cam is a tough call. He only played one season but it was one of the most dominant seasons ever for a QB and it led to a national title. I believe that Auburn team is one of the least talented and worst defensive teams to win a title in the past several decades.
It was a perfect match of Cam's skill set, Malzahn's offense, and timing (defenses weren't used to defending a spread like that).
To an extent, Burrow presents the same issue although he played more than one year and had a lot more talent around him.

re: Cam v Burrow
both were one season wonders, both pretty much dominated for that one season. to rank with the all time greats, has to be some level of a body of work, right? I think they're undoubtedly up there as far as college QBs go, just tough to compare to the guys that had 2 - 3 dominating seasons.

Did Baker Mayfield get #2? Let alone beat out people like Peyton Manning, Vince Young, and Dan Marino?

The list seems to be based on having good stats, recency

bias, and being a big name.
I would have Baker much, much lower (may close to 20?) but he finished top 4 in Heisman voting 3 times and finished in the top 5 of almost every passing record. Plus, the guy making the list is BigGameBoomer or whatever.

Gamecock and Georgia fans use his arbitrary rankings as proof of whatever delusion they have.
Oh well, fu>ck him. I'll take DW4 over ANY other college QB.

I FEEL AN UNCONTROLLABLE BLINDING RAGE OVER THE OPINION OF SOME ANONYMOUS TWITTER USER'S INCLUSIONS, EXCLUSIONS, AND RANKING ORDER ON A SUBJECTIVE LIST THAT IS NOT AN APPENDIX TO THE BIBLE AND WILL SURELY IMPACT MY DAY AND POTENTIALLY RUIN MY LIFE.
That should cover everything to its Joungiest.
