Too easy

Aug 15, 2016, 6:38 PM

I may be completely off base with what I've been reading thus far from spring until now, but am I the only one that's getting the impression that the coaches aren't challenging DW. Yes, I understand he's a talented kid and I do believe our coaches know what they are doing but it seems like they've bought into the hype and have become fans instead of coaches. It's one thing to throw him into a scrimmage and he completes 4-7 passes and throws 2 tds with the first string but I think they should mix it up. He's a talented kid who had a great year last year but that's the problem, It was last year. This is a new year and a lot more defensive coaches have more film on him and are gonna find out his weaknesses. He struggled a little against teams like FSU, Syracuse, and Louisville. I think Dabo should mix it up, and throw more at him. All I read is DW is fine, he's outstanding, etc...I don't think he's struggling Bc I think they're taking it easy on him Bc he's proven. No negative feedback Bc I'm starting to worry, Kevin Steele has had a lot of time on his hands to do film study and he may have given up a lot of yards to WV but he still is a well respected DC in college football.

DW is doing fine.
He's doing his own film study of himself and the opponents. No one is getting caught asleep at the wheel.

TB10 was also suppose to be doing film study going into his 2nd year starting and remember how that season turned out. He was also considered a Heisman candidate.

TB10's 2nd year as a starter was 11-2

How could I forget that disastrous 11-2 season

Capped off with a win against LSU in Atlanta.

Tajh's second year starting? Yeah that ended with an 11-2 record and him being named the ACC player of the year and an All-American. Your feathers are showing.

Brad Brownell: more losses than any other coach in school history.

Steele was DC @ LSU for ONE year

Aug 15, 2016, 6:57 PM

and they didn't want him back this year. That's the only DC job that he's had since Clemson FIRED him.Gus didn't want him either. Gus thought he had Pruitt from UGA to replace the DC(Chump) that he wasn't gonna bring back(no matter what Coots try to say,he was gone). Saban snatched up Pruitt and left Gus with a Clemson/LSU cast off.

Who are they going to use to challenge him, we don't have a QB to put any pressure on him. We don't have a coach that can challenge him. I guess they could take away 2 of the O lineman and see if he can complete any passes or get away from the D!!!

You've been a busy little coot in your few posts so far. I think we should all watch you crash and burn on this site based on your lifeless pulse. Now please bring me that pizza on the double!

DW4 has weaknesses alright .

Sometimes he will throw an interception just to make it interesting .

Or wear a red suit to the Heisman Trophy presentation .

If you want to worry about QB situations, you might want to focus on what's happening in coot town.

My pulse is irrelevant to where I stand as a fan. Unlike most of you, I have other things to do in 24 hrs than sit on a message board calling anonymous users coots and commenting on different topics with irrelevant responses. I'm aware we went 11-2, I'm also aware that we loss to Scar and loss to fsu with a team that had 3 of arguably the top 30 best best wide outs in the nfl and rising nfl talent Dre Ellington. Yes tajh was voted all American, but i also remember a lot of people didn't think he deserved it and he took a lot of heat and was also expected to lead us to the national title the following year with Sammy returning. And once again we lost the same games as the previous year and he didn't even show up in the FSU game. I'm not on here to bash Clemson, I love Clemson. I've been a fan since the days of going 6-5 but I'm also a realist who loves to talk football. Pre season hype can either make or break a team and it's something that has broken us in years past. Every year we're projected to go all the way but somehow lose to an unexpected team like Ga tech or Nc state. All I wanted to get out of this post was to get everyone's opinion on DW going into his second year and see if anyone else noticed that everyone including Clemson has him labeled as flawless Going into a year that most polls and analysts have us going all the way.

There is zero correlation to pulse and time spent on the board.

You are a dirt ###### plain and simple.

It's interesting that 35/48 for 368 yards 2 TD's, and 14 carries for 105 yards and 1 TD is "struggling" vs Syracuse. Also interesting that Louisville is again mentioned as a "struggle", but no mention of that being his first full game played since his 2014 ACL surgery (he didn't play full games vs Wofford nor App State)...on the road...still adjusting to his brace and learning to trust his knee.
