Tigers have played incredibly well against an average to weak schedule. It's hard to play GATECH, BC and Furman and then play FSU. The game speeds up and becomes Big Girl softball real quick and today, they weren't ready for that transition. Hopefully, they will use these games as examples of what it will take to get to OK City and they can push their game up to the elite level. I do believe that they can play much better defense than they showed and their pitching is solid, I do question whether they hit well enough as a team to compete at the highest level though. Time will tell.

Havent even played Duke, VT, Notre Dame etc. would’ve been nice to face a decent team before FSU.

South Carolina is alright but they played a horrific game vs us

True. Uga probably our best game. But you could tell. We started off ripping the cover off hitting good but not so much lately. Sure, vals had her dingers... but even against weak teams we've let too many lob. We also feasted off poorly played defenses, throwing errors and a ton of walks. Look at the box scores. A good bit of 8, 9 runs on 6 or fewer hits. Some of those hits were outfielders that couldn't catch.

I don't disagree with you in general, but you are hyperbolizing to suggest that scholarship athletes at some smaller schools are so poor defensively that they "can't catch." I think most of our base hits are deserved, once you allow for the weaker pitching we face in midweek games.

I guess Coach Rittman is responsible for the nonconference schedule? I thought we started the year playing quality foes--but not like FSU did.

So yes, gotta catch up to the rise balls, make better contact, throw to the target better tomorrow.

So we haven’t been invited to those early season tournaments with a lot of top teams yet like FSU plays. That will definitely change though. We will probably be playing Oklahoma, UCLA, Florida etc in early season games in coming years.

You must not be familiar with how a baseball or softball season plays out. Teams can lose games when playing a top six team who happens to be playing very well. It’s the ebb and flow of the season and can happen to anyone.

Gotta win at home when your top 5. Ladies have been a thrill to watch this year, but today was unfortunate and can’t happen.
