When Tech exited from the SEC in early 60s, I had them as the more powerful team from Georgia. Had won a number of National Championships and held the record of most consecutive bowl appearances for a long time. I’ve never looked up their head to head records but until they left the SEC, it was probably close? I think Clemson and Tech was more of a rival game, even though they had our number for all those games in Atlanta. Don’t even have to ask which school has more respect!!

Not exactly, wrt NCs. GT left the SEC in 1962, and at that time did not claim any National Championships. The practice of claiming National Championships didn't become a thing until the 1980s or so. Those earlier NCs that GT claims are mostly retroactive polls that didn't exist during the seasons in question, or were minor rating systems that weren't recognized as "official" by the NCAA until later.
For example, tech claims 1952. In 1952, Michigan St won the AP and coaches poll (United Press), and that was that. Except it wasn't. Years later, tech was ranked retroactively by Billingsley, Sagarin, and Berryman. They were also ranked by some lessor known/used polls like Houlgate and Poling that were made "official" by the NCAA some years later. Similar scenario in 1917 and 1928 that GT claim. Interestingly, UGA has "won" NCs by some of those very same polls, or had similar situations, in other seasons (1920, 1927, 1946, 1968) but does not "claim" those Championships.
Claiming or comparing National Championships in those earlier years - particularly before the Bowl Coalition - is really an apples to oranges discussion.

The idea occurred to you to 1) open this site. 2) create a thread with this as the subject. 3) type it out. 4) read over it, think about it, and still arrive at the conclusion that it was something you wanted to post.
Amazing how many people here will want the mods to "take out the trash" when it comes to my posts but have no problem with this kind of garbage.

What chest pumping would that be? My opinion about the game on August 31? The fact that I, along with everyone else trying to be remotely objective, think Georgia is going to win? The fact i don't think the team you like is going to win is not chest pumping. It's an opinion.

What exactly do I post you find so offensive? Really....be specific. I post my opinion. I don't run down Clemson or call people names. I suspect if I were like an FSU poster and was careful only to express opinions people here would agree with, I wouldn't constantly be asked "why are you here?" I'm here to share my opinion - same as everyone else. Like everyone here, I'm a guest and the mods can delete my account (or yours) anytime they choose.
