We had more tradition than they had and could say it

with lots to back it up until they won 2 back to back NC's. Now we are in there shadow until we kick it back up and take some games from them and make noise nationally again.

I agree, the 2 NCs hurt the argument immensely. But when it comes to playing on the same field, we still have the upper hand.

baseball the way Clemson cared about baseball. For many years Clemson was winning titles and going to Omaha and you hardly saw an article in the paper or on the TV news. Only when Cooterville gets a winner does anybody care. Pretty funny when Coots assume Clemson has no tradition when in fact we are a staple at the end of the cbb season.

good for them. We have more NCAA appearances and more trips to Omaha. Before anybody starts in on the "until we do this or that" remember that is not the argument. The Miami Heat won the NBA title last year...who has more tradition the Heat or the Celtics?

Just talk to any level-headed Gamecock (granted there aren't many) and they'll admit they can't touch our tradition. Just compare our campus to theirs. City spread-out SC campus versus small town tight-knit CU campus. As far as baseball, the warning hill, Omaha paw, pants to the shoes, etc.

lord... from the team whose baseball tradition started...

three years ago. Sheesh. What do these guys think tradition actually means? Clemson was by far the better program over the last 30 to 40 years. It's longevity that makes tradition, not a few years of greatness.
Of course, it would be better if we'd won a national title, but how they can say we don't have more baseball tradition than they do is beyond me.

I hate the coots as much as anyone, but whoever thinks their baseball tradition started 2 years ago is either 7 years old or just doesn't follow college baseball. Their tradition may not be as long standing as ours, but they've been to Omaha a bunch and have played in the final game in Omaha 6 different times under 3 different coaches, winning 2 national championships and being national runner up the other 4 times. We've never made the final game, but have definitely gotten the better of them head to head historically (outside of Omaha). Sorry, but I feel like you can be a proud, die hard Clemson fan without butchering the fact that they didn't start winning big games 3 years ago. With that said, I hope we beat the crap out of them this weekend! We'll be beating a quality opponent and adding to our advantage in a great rivalry between 2 excellent programs.
