Sometimes It's The Little Things

1

Oct 13, 2021, 8:05 PM

in our lives that bring the greatest joy. For example, have you ever had an itch in the middle of your back and were finally able to reach it and give it a scratching it deserved? Ah, what a wonderful feeling!!!! And then we do something that causes us to have a cut that eventually is covered with a scab. We awaken one morning and the scab is gone. What a relief. Now we can stop checking that scab every hour. Have you ever started to sneeze and for some reason the urge to sneeze vanishes? Wait a couple of moments and you will relish the sound and feel of that monster. You will feel like you just created a tornado.

We have become so involved with the big picture we don't realize the momentary and fleeting joy we derive from simple things in our lives. Your next itch is on me. Enjoy that scratch !!!!!

Or Joe, have you ever had the urge to see a football thrown downfield 40-50 yards and end up in the hands of a Clemson receiver? I have, and I can't get rid of this dang thing. Any recommendations?

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I was thinking the same thing...

Oct 14, 2021, 5:45 PM

...the joy of seeing a wide open Tiger receiver beyond the coverage and then realizing the QB sees him too.

Your itch story reminded me of a friend, who years ago said

He loved having jock itch, because it felt so good to scratch it! :)

Sometimes it's the wise and wonderful posts from you Joe21, that make us stop and count that blessing that we almost missed! Waiting for your special birthday, my friend!!

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I’ve started using the remote control to reach that spot these days

Oct 13, 2021, 9:25 PM

if I’m on the couch.

Very Effective! The buttons deliver an excellent scratch.

I just have to remember to point it downward as to avoid accidentally changing the channel.

For those of us who have lost most of our shoulder mobility and can no longer reach most of the back I highly recommend one of these

We do get caught up in the moment and forget to take a step back to gain perspective. The world would be a much better place of each one of us was to take a deep breath sometimes and realize that a lot of the stuff we are greatly influenced by isn’t really that important at all! Go rest high on the mountain Joe!

Thank you Joe for the stories that remind us of what the previous generation gave to the world that seems forgotten and for the life lessons from your nearly 100 years of experience. I was hoping to thank you in person on your 100 birthday but I will be thinking about you and praying for your family. You have been a joy to read!

Generation. Thanks to you, and men like you, we still have a free United States to grow up in, and live, love and yes, even hate in. You brought rays of sanity, humor, and life lessons to these Tigernet Boards for many years.

God gained a great storyteller, and Heaven is just a little more grounded in Earth today. Their gain is truly Tigernet, and the world at large's loss.

Re: Sometimes It's The Little Things

Nov 4, 2021, 12:32 PM

Yes, the "little things".... those fine, small details that enhance our lives.
Sometimes even the tiniest thing can make the greatest difference, if we pay attention to it. Even with people, we all have value, and we all should appreciate and respect each other from the least to the mightiest.
Joe21, a mighty man of valor, never failed to point this out to us and we are all better off because of his influence on our lives.
Now, we should likewise keep carrying this beautiful message with us wherever it leads.
Reminded of a similar message, I'll leave you with this; "As you go, proclaim this message: 'The kingdom of heaven has come near.' Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give."
