To me, our upcoming season schedule appears to be siriusly

Jul 22, 2022, 9:43 AM

"back loaded", if you will. Yes, I realize we play Georgia Tech to open, AND the Wuffies of Dave "The D.oosh" Doeren in the first half.

But the last six are loaded with games against teams that have given the Tigers fits, for various reasons. That group leads off with:

Florida State: The Criminoles will not be down forever. I suspect they will be more than respectable this year.

Syracuse: For indiscernable reasons, Syracuse has been a thorn in the Tigers side since we started playing them. The record doesn't matter, strange things seem to happen in this game.

Notre Dame: Going on the road to South Bend will of course be tough. Expect no less, even though they have a new coach.

Louisville: They played us tough as possible without actually beating us last year, and are not lacking in confidence this time around.

Miami: Mario Cristobal seems to be bringing some order to the 'Canes, and, with this game coming the week before our annual tilt with the Coots, could easily be a trap game.

South Carolina: You can say this shouldn't be a contest on paper, but rivalry games could care less about what SHOULD be. Captain Mayonnaise will have his flock lubed up and ready to play, I assure you.

Agree with most of everything you said except for FSU. EVENTUALLY they will be back to at least competitive. This is not the season. I would not be shocked if they end up being one of the worst teams in the Atlantic.

Most rational Nole fans think 7-5 is our most likely record, with a reasonalbe shot at 8-4.

I think we need 8 wins, including a bowl game. 7-5 plus a bowl win is my cut off point for a successful season. I don't think Norvell would be fired at a 7-6 season. But fans will definitely not be happy.

I hope that we don't consider GT to a real problem

unless they've gotten a ton better, we should steamroll them.

I think because of the QB competition that will happen this season; plus a healthy DJU we should be favored in all our ACC schedules.

How will Notre Dame look Post Brian Kelly? Better or worse? The guy isn't that likable, but he can coach. When he was at Cincinnati he had them rolling; like they did last season with less talented players. Can the new coach replace that?
Miami - Cristobal "will get them there" but it may not be this season. You still have to play with discipline. You still have to have good OL play. Have they recruited that position at a high level? And QB same question?
FSU - will get turned around for sure. They still keep talented players and will always be dangerous. Much like Miami, I think FSU forgot all of their success didn't happen because of "great skill players alone"! It starts with that OL and them being good! Clemson was hurting last year because we had to patchwork OL a bunch. Those fancy toys at RB, QB, and WR can't do a thing if the play gets blown up due to a porous OL.
SCAR - I don't see it. The Gamecock players believe the SEC hype and believe because of the SEC patch on their jersey guarantees them a win out of the conference. The Citadel, and App State both say high though Gamecocks! It' 's reason #405 as to why the idea that just because you are a part of that conference; means you're good is stupid.
