To me, 25 players voted as leaders

would signify a LACK of leadership, not an abundance of it. I would think you'd want a core of 5-10 players being the leaders on the team, not 25. That sounds almost like a high school popularity contest.

In most cases I'd agree. But when you have a defense with as many clear vocal leaders as there were on this unit then I have no problem believing that 25 players have great leadership characteristics.
