Clearly most money came in on Clemson

Sep 5, 2022, 1:37 PM

Other than a sudden player injury, the only reason the line moves is because more money was being bet on one team than the other. Vegas will move the line in hopes of having as close to a 50/50 split as possible.

As fans, this is a good sign for us as it very likely means the NewSpring NIL Collective has finally found a corrupt official to bribe to throw the game for Clemson. Load up, boys! It's time to get PAID tonight!

Amazing how many folks don't understand how the line works.

As you say, the only reason for the line is to get equal money on both sides. Vegas doesn't gamble...they only want the sure thing!

5% of the total volume is one helluva deal. Several years ago I built a spreadsheet for a bookie friend of mine that would tell him when to pass bets upstream to his bookie, when to hold them and when to adjust the line. If it weren't for the threat of going to jail, I would've never started my own legitimate IT business. Gambling is fun!

Now, I've also never met a bookie that didn't also gamble. They'd hold bets they should've pushed up to Vegas in the hopes of a major windfall. Those dudes usually had a rough year. And there are some Vegas books that'll hedge and hope to get big paydays. But that kinda stuff happens less the more upstream you go.

They are following the good folks around the world laying wads of cash on the Tigers and they suspect Dabo got some major horses running out of the tunnel behind him tonight!

Exactly, Vegas don't lose money, they make most of their money from the losers, and what they charge to make the bet, and that is why the odds will always move around, it's so the money stays even on both sides of the betting, and their odds makers working those computers are right way more than they've ever been wrong!!!

Just my 2 cents. This is a game to stay away from because of the unknowns. Every game has them but way to many with both of these teams. Clemson with all the new coaches, O line play, QB play, WR play and even a new punter. GT has a bunch of transfers which could be good or bad. We do know that Clemson will have a solid defense.
I could see this game being very close to the point spread.

I avoid "friendly" wagering on Week 1 like the plague. EVERY year. ;)

25pts away in the opener doesn't seem like a bet the farm scenario imo. I do think we will end up covering this spread but I wouldn't up upset or shocked if we won by 21. I prefer taking the Tigers when we are rarely getting points or a pick em. I will say I'd bet the farm that I'm pumped up bc its GAMEDAY BABY!!!! WHOOO HOOO WHOO HOO HOO HOOOO

If we can score 24.5, I will jump for joy. That would like double the offensive output from last year.

Jeoff is still their Coach on game day?

Add another 1-3 pts to the opposing side. EASY $$$$$!

If you really want to bet go with the under 51 points. I wouldn't make the bet but sometimes you just need a little action.
