Tigers top No. 11 Duke again to earn series split

The No. 20 Clemson softball team earned a series split with No. 11 Duke on Sunday inside of McWhorter Stadium, taking the series finale 4-2. Redshirt freshman catcher JoJo Hyatt singled with the bases loaded in a tie game in the fifth inning to give Clemson the lead and Valerie Cagle shut down the B Read Update »

My golf match got rained out after 13 Holes . . . I rushed home to watch the 5th, 6th and 7th innings . . .

Millie Thompson battled with all she had, changing speed and location to keep the doooks off balance.

Valerie Cagle didn’t do a thing . . . she did several . . . throwing a runner out @ third from right field, walked 3x and had a triple . . . entered the circle to get the save and seal the deal . . .

JoJo Hyatt . . . not only catching a nice game but the game winning RBI with 2 outs and the bases loaded . . . this happening right after doook made the play @ home on the squeeze attempt . . . this play would have demoralized or distracted some, but not JoJo . . . well done!!!

Great “at bats” the entire game by Marissa Guimbarda . . . Solid fielding by our entire squad . . .

I told y’all I’d do better . . . . . . Sorry I let you down on the first two games!

Of course we’re stoked about the soccer team as well, but they have the history of success... these ladies are tilling new ground while starting a new culture from scratch, and that culture is one of winning. They are making us all proud! Coach Rittman is doing a superb job!

Duke on Saturday and Sunday and those games were not even as close as the double header games on Friday. Next up, UnCheat. If they keep playing the way they are they will get into the NCAA tournament and are poised for a deep run.

If you are not watching these games you are missing out big time!
