Report: Trevor Lawrence to be limited at rookie minicamp

Former Clemson quarterback Trevor Lawrence is the talk of the NFL. Lawrence has been rehabbing his non-throwing shoulder during the offseason and should be ready to roll in rookie minicamp this week with a few limitations. Easy - life still happens outside of school.

I tore my shoulder up when I fell awkwardly while playing pitch and catch with a football after I transferred to a small 4-year school away from home.

$300 emergency room visit upfront and a nice medical bill after since I had bare bones insurance. I couldn't work for almost 2 months and had to rely on credit cards to keep going as I was also paying for school out of pocket. (Yes, I come from a single mother low income home.)

TL16 received excellent medical treatment; never had to worry about school or credit card debt mounting while he continued to receive the college experience and CFB glory being one of the best at Clemson.

I certainly am not against CFB players making some coin off their likeness or saying players don't deal with their own problems but let's be real...being a CFB player on scholarship would definitely work more for you than against you more times than not.

I'm sorry, are you comparing yourself to Trevor's situation?

Were you the consensus #1 pick since you were in HS? Did you tear up your shoulder playing Texas A&M? Are you smart enough to tell between apples and oranges?

I agree that the scholarship isn't enough compensation.

I bet that free medical care for the 2 years of injury was a nice compensation on top of the scholarship.

I would imagine he was getting therapy, treatments, massages, and a personal trainer to help stretch the shoulder 6 or 7 days a week for those two years.

How much do you think it would cost out of pocket for that sort of care?

Also let's not pretend like a large percentage of the population would have even had surgery to repair Trevor's injury.

He only had it surgically repaired because he intends to continue taking hits and having stress on the shoulder.

There are some arguments for compensating athletes, but this one is terrible.

He was the pre-ordained #1 pick, worth tens, if not hundreds

of millions of dollars and he played the better part of two years with a torn muscle in his shoulder...Do you not think his future earning were in the balance if he took another bad hit? You can't be this naive
