starting position to another player. If they do make an attempt to resign him, it will be at MUCH less than a 1st rounders pay. With the coach AND GM that brought him onboard both now gone, Cle's future is uncertain, for sure.

Wish him the best, he will have to compete for a spot, but Jacksonville, Houston, Carolina all need help and we all know he can do the job, when motivated......
Good Luck Tiger!

Even Gruden said he didn't draft him because of his talent but because of his work ethic. He wanted a guy who would set an example.

Agree, once a team loses faith in a player, the best thing for them is to move on and get a career kick start with new coaches and team mates, as I'm absolutely sure that is what Clelin will do bc, he is a young man with plenty of FB talent with a lot of good FB left in him. Go Cle, Tiger nation still believes you will make a team, and team mates glad that they have you on their side!!!

Truth! Once you get to NFL it's a 100% performance business. If you can't improve or stay healthy you're gone.

Even in hindsight, maybe Cle was a first rounder ... but #4 was too much of a reach.
BTW, I think that UGA's Trayvon Walker is a huge reach. Great Combine star and good player (but not great based on his on-field productivity) ... maybe mid- to low- first round would have been justifiable.
But #1 overall? No way.

And btw, how many Dawgs were taken in the 1st round? The correct answer is 2. 2 many that is, for a team that beat the "spiraling downward tigers" 10-3. Yes, they stayed healthy and got better while we got injured and transferred to death.

Biggest thing about this article is they declined on Mullen and Renfrow as well. What happens there? They have performed very well.

I believe the article says they declined the options on all of their FIRST round picks.

You read it correctly.

I am amazed every time I read this forum at the sheer lack of reading comprehension. Not only that, but the absolute inability to think critically and glean things that are obviously stated in news stories. I can only hope most of these people are fans and not Clemson graduates. but then again, the most ridiculous political and Covid takes are by well educated otherwise intelligent far left people with Clemson diplomas. It’s stunning the amount of brainwashing and willful ignorance I see here.
For example, everything coming from the government and the left about Covid and vaccines has been proven factually incorrect. We knew most of this from the very beginning because we have history guiding us and the data was trending in very specific directions from the very start. Not only has all of it been proven wrong with the data, but we now have documents coming out from the CDC, FDA, and Pfizer proving that the vaccine was a joke, that there were high levels of negative consequences from the vaccine trials, and that natural immunity is as good if not superior to the vaccine, which has been known for generations. It’s all basic science. Just like life beginning at conception, men and women are not the same, there’s no proof much less strong evidence to white degree man is contributing to climate change, and it #### sure is not a crisis. Even the UN admits that. But these people are brainwashed because the government, the left, Hollywood, the music industry, big tech/social media, the government educational system and colleges and universities, and of course the media are all tied at the help and coordinate false narratives via propaganda brainwash people. It’s all about power and control and always has been!
And there are tons of people on the left that are extremely well respected saying what I wrote above. This is not a right wing thing. And when those people tell the truth they are labeled right wing extremists, alt right, racists and bigots. These people don’t believe in science nor objective truth. They take a tiny grain of truth and twist it into a gordian knot of propaganda.
Thanks to big tech and social media they have been able to marginalize Fox News and cancel those speaking truth to power, but now that Elon musk is buying Twitter they will no longer be able to control the narrative, which is exactly why they’re all freaking out! And they know they’re going to get slaughtered in the next two elections! To the point where the Republicans may have a super majority in Congress.

Man, as soon as I saw politics brought up I stopped reading. Just bc someone didn't understand that the Raiders had 3 1st round selections that season doesn't mean they can't read or comprehend. Everything is not political and only morons make it that way.

100% agree with you, Lowcntry_Tiger, but I think you just overreacted a tiny bit. ??
But I hope you feel better.

Most Clemson fans understood on draft day that Christian Wilkins and Dexter Lawrence were better players and better picks than Ferrell. Mike Mayock blew it and lost his job as a result. For all the Tnetters who subscribe to these coaches and GM's as subject matter geniuses, it was my correct take that Wilkins and Lawrence were stronger picks on draft day. Clemson fans knew more than Mayock.
This year history repeated itself when Trent Baalke and the Jags picked a winner and great young man in Trayvon Walker. Walker will be another over reach IMHO. 19 solo tackles at UGA this year - a good country boy - not a leader - tenth on the team in tackles - the same as Derion Kendrick.

For years I have been amazed at how bad the experts are at evaluating and drafting talent.

They love these guys that are workout Warriors. The guys that are Tarzan in the gym, but Jane on the football field. They pick these guys that come out of nowhere and crush the combine, while ignoring guys that have been crushing it on the field.
Throughout history the failures of guys in the first three rounds of the NFL draft is shocking. Especially how often they get it wrong in the first round. And these are the so-called experts.

Love the Draft Day reference. If you tnetters haven't seen it, go now and watch it. Your time will better spent instead of watching the NFL circus.

You have to contribute and bring value in the NFL. Being a 1st rounder might now have hurt him. Good luck for the future and hope you can get on a team where you can start again and contribute.

The NFL Draft is more art than science, with a lot of outlier picks, which by definition means no one should be surprised that there are so many outliers.
