I thought Flying Tiger's take on Punchable Face Joe Burrow was maybe even a little on the restrained side, not really off base?

And again, for the 22nd time, I was not hoping for Burrow to be injured - just that he would take a big shot and give up a scoop and score. Something that happens often in the NFL, and the QB gets up and runs back to the sideline shaking his head.
As for the "in light of recent events" comment in this thread, ok... so what do you propose? That we make football a non-contact sport? Make it the NFFL (National Flag Football League)? I guarantee you Damar Hamlin doesn't want that.

that I didn't want Burrow to get injured. I just wanted to see him take a hit and fumble the ball. It happens all the time in football games. QBs have to be tough enough to take a hit and get back up for the next play. That's part of their job.
This IS football we're talking about here. Sorry if I hurt your feelings. Burrow is a great QB, but he's also a smug, pompous ar$e in some of his comments. I noticed the phrase "punchable face" appear in that thread more than once.

and his body goes flying, it does not result in a concussion. If that were the case half of the starting QBs in the NFL would be out by the end of the season. Concussions are caused by contact to the head or the QB's head getting slammed down to the ground. Let me repeat - THAT'S NOT WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT.
