above-average QB. It's not like they are trying to replace a Heisman finalist. He was maybe the 5th best QB in the SEC last year behind Jones, Trask, Corral, and even Franks. If you add in JT Daniels, who wasn't healthy enough to play until late in the year, Mond is 6th.

Jimbo seems to be doing a nice job improving the talent level all across that roster. I don't think losing Mond is going to change the trajectory of the program. If A&M does decline over the next few years if will likely be due to what Jimbo struggled with at FSU - culture and disciplinary issues.
