Question for the TNET gang - what does this mean exactly? Its not a 1-year contract extension (or is it?). I need to know how to explain this to my teenage daughters who met and fell in love with Young Mr Humphries a few years ago. And who currently draw the ire of all the Panther fans seated around us as they both wear Luke Kuechly jerseys to the Panthers/Bucs game yet pull so passionately for Adam when he steps on the field.
TIA

There was no signing bonus, nor is the contract guaranteed, although I don't know all the details of how contracts are 'honored'. So, I'll just go with the 'if he makes the team' (he's essentially their 2nd receiver, so...) and 'stays healthy', his salary for this year will be just north of $2.9 million. That will be more than his total for all three years he's played to date. Not bad for a guy who 'wowed' the staff at a two-day tryout back in May, '15!

Why not more than 1 year being that he has been a stand out receiver for the Buc's. This just seem to be short changes for him and his talent. Also seems like his agent isn't doing a very good job for him bc I'm sure he frowns over a year contract. I would want much more to stay and play for the Buc's!!!

Clemson was his *only* offer & of course the rumor was that

... we only offered him to secure Charone Peake's commitment.
Is our staff just that good at spotting potential where absolutely no one else sees it, or did we actually take him as a package with Peake and just get lucky?
I'm leaning towards "our staff is just that good!" ...

I think you're right. That's another reason, I don't get all antsy when the staff offers a three star, when there are higher rated players out there.

Peake and Humphries were never a package deal

Dabo went to a Dorman High basketball game to watch Peake and asked about the Humphries kid. He went back and watched the tape and offered him. (This was all Dabo). Humphries then played as a true freshmen in the class with Peake, Ssssammy and Martavis.

Dabo was watching Peake play basketball and was impressed with Humphries, I think he was also the QB on the football team, and played DB as well. He asked the football coach about him and the HC raved about how good a football player he was. I think he still has the Clemson record for receptions per target, and was the reason Watkins got so many yards on those bubble screens, seemed like many times whoever he was blocking wound up off the field of play.
