Dabo Swinney on NFL opportunities: “Never say never to anything, but I love what I do”

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was a guest on ESPN's Keyshawn, JWill & Zubin' podcast on Wednesday. Swinney was asked about various topics, including the likelihood that he would ever take a coveted NFL head coaching job. "I’ve said many times over the years you never say never to anything, but I l Read Update »

Dabo will retire from FB at Clemson. He makes 9 mil a year, and what more could he want or ask for, that he doesn't have at Clemson, and if there was something more that he wanted, all he has to do is ask for it, and it's like rubbing the Genie lamp, poof, there it is!!!!

Dabo Will Leave Once....

They start paying players to play college ball. The only thing that stops that is a set amount each team gets to distribute to the players each year making the playing field some what even .

I'd like to think that paying players won't kill college football but then again I believe in the Easter Bunny .

There is a huge difference in college and the NFL so hopefully Dabo keeps winning and the wise choice of staying with us.

Noticed the get back coach is at least as big as coach Batson. That's a good thing... Keeps Venebles from getting in trouble, especially as he ages. We don't want a Woody Hayes moment for Venebles if he begins to lose control of emotion.

You write, Swinney loves "nearly everything" about Clemson.... What doesn't he love about Clemson??

The "get back" coach is at least the size of Coach Batson, if not larger. That's a good thing to help Keep Coach Venebles in check.

Doubt it....NFL fan bases won’t tolerate having your kids and nephews on their team either. Love the dude to death but he should probably sit this idea in the trash...The league would honestly chew him up and spit him out.

Comments like this would fire me up if I was Coach Swinney.
If I kept hearing this I would want to go to the NFL just to prove myself to the doubters who think he is just an "aw shucks" "motivator" and "good old boy" "college coach".
I think he is a deft CEO and communicator who would translate well to NFL. But I pray he stays a Tiger for Life.
