SMART KID, and he will be even SMARTER with a College Education after sports aren't paying the bills for him any longer!!! IMO, he is smarter than any of the kids that chose to rush into pro sports before getting a free college education from one of the top universities!!!!!!

Maybe I don’t understand the MLB draft all that well but how can a potential top ten projection fall that far?

My guess is that he must have been telling most teams he planned to stay at Clemson. Therefore, the MLB teams chose not to use an early round pick when the probability of signing him was low.

I'm wondering as well.
One possibility is players tell interested teams what their $ number is to sign(often above slot $) and some teams back down but I am still confounded by how far he dropped.
I think he would've signed in a heartbeat anywhere in the first round.
