This makes the point that I said many times about how hard it is to built a championship Baseball team. MLB takes their pick over all HS talent, then they will come in a take what they want after they have proven themselves at the college level. I would be okay if Clemson didn't waste anymore money on college baseball bc, college baseball is a super center for MLB to come in at what ever year, and shop for the best deals they can find, with college baseball losing their A S S E S off with the return bc, not many fans will buy the tickets or the apparel to watch average or below average college baseball. Just how many fans do we see wearing the apparel representing Tiger baseball. Everything I see has a FB or something about FB on them!!!

We had 3 years of Beer and Davidson, 2 together. It is not like 1 and done. How many has Monte lost to the draft before they step foot on campus? 1 per year? Seems like this was more of an issue for Jack.

The same rules apply to baseball as does college football. Yes, you can get drafted from hs but once you enroll in a college you have to stay with that program through your junior year or you turn 21. About the same as football.

Yes jack had more sign pro from high school but he could offer unlimited kids but was limited to 11.75 scholarships.

The rules changed in 2009. Monte’s first year of recruiting was not Clemson standards. The best he signed was Logan. In that same class was Mat Clark, bo gobin, Owen, Spiers and Jordan Greene. Rank after draft was 34.

He’s since had top 20 class rank with 11 being the best. The new players on the team this year as first or second year starters were from that class... others from that class included Strider, Raffield, Donathan (who can hit), and kier- all hurt and couldn’t contribute.

Give him time, players are on the way. Had we had the above players, imo we’re playing for a super today.
