Recent history shows that a significant disparity in talent can be offset by having difference makers at the skill positions, particularly QB.

QB and the front 4 make a world of dif. And we basically are loaded with 5*s there. Just need to play like it.

Even if we take the score from the 2018 Championship game and “adjust” the score on both sides of the ball …

44 / 1.43 = 31
16 x 1.43 = 23

We STILL win 31-23!! :)

Numbers leaving HS are good starting points. But development

of players is what Clemson excels at above the others.
What are ranking numbers of players after their college years are over? How many 'hits' and how many 'misses' did teams have among their recruits?
- I'm guessing that Clemson will have more 'Hits' on their recruits by the end of their college eligibility than those other schools.
- I'm really going out on a limb to say that Clemson also turns out better quality 'Men', 'Citizens', 'fathers', 'husbands', etc... and any other quality characteristics you can measure regarding how successful their players later in their life after their adult careers.

I think when we won the National Championship in 2016, we were around 15th in "talent" as per stars of High School recruits, and around 9 in 2018. In contrast, FSU (and Jimbo Fisher) were in the top 5. We have plenty of talent, and the coaches of Clemson develop talent. We have the talent to go all the way, but we need to show it on the field.
