Could Lunardi be wrong about dropping because of loss of DG?

Feb 11, 2018, 2:21 PM

ESPN's Joe Lunardi said Sunday that he expects Clemson to drop to a 6-seed by March.

“Although they have won four in a row without him, the Donte Grantham injury has to catch up to the Tigers eventually,” Lunardi writes.

We're a different team w/out Grantham, but not necessarily

... but not necessarily worse.

We miss Grantham's rebounding and defense. But, we've more than made up for his offense.

Personally, I think losing Donte has forced our other guys to play better than they were playing when he was healthy.

If we fall to a #6 seed as Lunardi predicts, I think it will be because of the increasing difficulty of our remaining schedule more than the absence of Donte Grantham.

I agree, and I think it also depends on how well the freshman keep improving - Amir, Trapp, & Williams esp.

Why is this so hard for ESPN to understand

our guard play is the best in the ACC. Guard Play wins Tournament Games. if we lost Reed or DeVoe it would hurt, but losing DG is barely relevant imo. And it's showing on the court.

Long way to go still, but it would be great to have an opportunity to play a first and second round game in Charlotte. Almost impossible I’m sure, but one can hope. Also if we could flip regions with Cincinnati we could have the chance to play a regional final in Atlanta.
