Some notes from these predictions...

-We got four points above all last-place votes. So at least someone (maybe our coach) thinks we can beat Pitt, Louisville, and/or Virginia Tech.
-UNC got 7 1st place votes, but lost 8 points from the 3 coaches who didn't vote them 1st place. That means on average those 3 coaches had UNC predicted 4th. That's fairly stunning. Sounds like one coach may have sandbagged the vote to pull UNC down some points.
-BC and Syracuse had 1 1st Place vote each (which means their max total was 91 points) and ended up with 86 and 85 points. That means that their other 9 votes were almost all 2nd and 3rd place.
-Notre Dame got a 1st place vote, but then only got 64 points. That means the other 9 coaches had them an average of 5th (which is where they ended up in the poll).
-None of the above really matters. Actual games matter. Hopefully our Women's Lacrosse team has a player that can be their version of Valerie Cagle (or even Logoleo or Clark) and make a statement from season 1 that we don't belong on the bottom.

As a bean counter I noticed these things too.
On Clemson getting 14 points...
Since I can't imagine a situation where a coach would say, "Yeah, we'll probably lose to Clemson," this means that our coach had to put us as sixth.
On UNC getting 92 points and only seven first-place votes...
I'd bet the schools that got a first-place vote did the voting for themselves, or had a buddy do it in exchange for their first place vote. Notre Dame probably did the worst sandbagging. I hate that program.

HEY, at least they're consistent with the rest of the ACC sports HC's with picking where they want to see Clemson to finish in all sports. Jealousy of Clemson's winning ways eats their A$$ES up!!!

The ACC is a great lacrosse conference and our team is brand new.
I’m really impressed with our coach. She has been very successful as a player and coach, and she’s brought in some really talented recruits.
Excited for the season! Go Tigers!

They're should be a stat sheet like softball, when softball isn't televised. The first televised game for us is against #16 domers on February 25th at 1pm.
Once we get into conference play, I'm hoping all conference games will be accn or streaming. I'm excited.

B-Meist®
B) We already have more talent on the team than Pitt, Louisville, or VT. I think the last place prediction is more about seeing how it all comes together vs the talent we have. There's no reason we should finish last.
C) With that said, we are looking up, way up, at the top of that list. I-3, and maybe Duke, should beat us by 8-10 goals or more. Will be interesting to see what upsets we can pull off and how the team gels.
