Tigers rain down 3-pointers in blowout win over Pitt

Much of the country is locked in a polar vortex that has brought snow to people around the nation. In Clemson, a hot streak made it rain 3-pointers. Photo by Joshua S. Kelly / USATODAY Full Story »

Hopefully this is a jump start that the team needed to get on track and start winning some games. Go Tigers!!!

Win the ones that we should win, and make a good showing with the ones we're just not talented enough to win. Do that and I can live easier without being stress over a poor showing!!!

Still an outside chance for a NIT bid... properly need 5

More ACC wins to make that a reality though.

you realize we are like 53 in the rpi. you do realize the team that went to the sweet 16 was 1-5 against the 6 teams we started with. you do realize there are 11 games left. you obviously dont realize it is way to early for any predictions. you should realize we just need to get a little confidence and try and make a little run.

Our schedule is set up to make a winning run into the ACC Tournament, then win one or two there and we are fine for an NCAA bid, imo. Really should have won at NCSU but there is plenty of time for this team, as you stated. Reed being hurt and that brutal opening ACC schedule will be taken into consideration.

Yeah that will be taken into consideration and we only have 3 ranked (currently) teams left on the schedule. Nebraska and the Nancy state games hurt. Otherwise we’re 14-6 with a very favorable schedule.

Nit picking though, but Pitt did outscore us big in the second half.

And a number of possessions were empty just because we were willing trade 30-45 seconds of clock against their 2 points.

Second half meltdowns have always been a problem- going back decades. Even when the Tigers win, it's often ugly. So, let's say they get into the big show. Then what? What would we reasonably expect? Almost always, it's an early exit. This team has to finish really strong in the regular season, play really tough in the ACC Tourney and then go at least three rounds in the NCAA Tourney just to make some sort of recruiting dent. Even this might not be enough. It would probably take several years of really tough, competitive basketball before recruits begin to catch on and decide to come to Littlejohn. One good season, even two, will not make much of a dent, IMO. But, I do reserve the right to be wrong.
