He sure goes out of his way to defend DJ. Gets a little sickening. DJ had plenty of time on that fumble. He also could have stepped up in the pocket. Here's a clue, we were backed up, it's 2nd and 1, put your big boy under center who seems to be scared to get hit and let him plow out a couple yards.

Or, perhaps put TP in on that play and let him run. Or let him run the rpo. FSU was keying on the 2nd and 1 middle. Perhaps instead of blaming a young tight end, put some onus on TE and the plays called. Backed up on our goal and you dial up a long developing play?

I agree... but I think it is obvious. It would be beating a dead horse. And the only thing digging into DJ will do is make a potential QB recruit doubt the HC/staff. You can always sell that a many-star kid did not develop and the next guy up can be the new hero, you can't throwing guys under the bus.

I think everyone can see that DJ just does not have it and is not developing enough. However, Dabo et al are still coaching him. We still have 4+ games and we still need to have DJ to do his best. We really don't have another option that can step in and make an improvement. You have to protect your guy and coach him up, not beat 'em down.

I agree that series was bad - all except getting 9 yards on first down. The 3rd down play was not supposed to be slow developing. It was supposed to be a quick pass to the TE but when he went the other way the whole thing blew up. There were a couple of plays where I would have rather seen DJ just throw the ball in the ground at the receiver’s feet and that was one of them.

Hopefully someone in the media will ask why not give stellato a chance in the slot. Red shirting him doesn't make a lot of sense. He's only here 4 years max. If he gets beat out, he'll go portal.
