Stadium expansion for softball? Radakovich says plans are being made

Clemson softball has yet to complete a full season, but John Rittman’s program sits atop the Atlantic Coast Conference standings and is in line to host an NCAA Tournament Regional. That success isn’t lost on Athletic Director Dan Radakovich, who said this week that he expected big results when the school hired Rittman. Full Story »

Liberal politicians call it “investments”, but that’s what you call it when spending someone else’s money.

Maybe the funds can be raised by private donors! Everything is not paid for by the state or the university.

Plus I feel the women’s softball team has earned a consideration to expand and or make up dates to their ballpark.

Please add varsity women’s lacrosse. They can play at Riggs field. DRad would easily be able to hire a top notch coach and achieve success early with a new program. Top women’s lacrosse players would love to play at Clemson.

Add Gymnastics to the Littlejohn. Would sell tickets for sure and hopefully add a championship winning program to LJC finally.

Expectations are different for different programs. Definitely should expect more and double down on a first year coach and program than on basketball and a coach going into year 12. Don’t @me - that’s DRad talking.

The program has been meh for 110 years yet you think the only thing keeping us from greatness is the HC. Wondering if they taught this type of reasoning in Columbia?

If after 2 seasons you have to make major changes to a stadium you just built, then someone is in a role they probably shouldn’t be in.

And for the spending someone else’s money comment, quit sending them your money. If they are going to spend Iptay donation money on sports that lose money as opposed to revamping Memorial Stadium, then their out of touch with what the majority of football donors want. Again, if their spending their own money, then build or expand whatever you want. But if your spending money from folks wanting it spent on the football program, then your not doing what the majority want.

DRad is supposedly a facility guru - it’s the whole reason he was hired despite being a former coot and destroying almost every athletic program at Georgia Tech. Don’t tell me that was a lie!?!?!?!

I hope they add a pride plaza.

It can be an lgbtq+5 exclusive area, they could raise lots of money to help build it.

Maybe they could build other safe spaces at memorial stadium as well, it would be great.
