It appears to me that our Tigers are adding the state of Texas to our list of areas producing top notch players. Our friends in Athens are making Georgia recruiting tough for us. For some reason the Peach State is among the top areas for recruiting star players. Hadn’t been long ago when the big time prospects were coming out of Florida and IMG Academy et al. Our Tigers are staying atop of what is going on in the recruiting world. Do you think NIL has affected recruiting that much?

If a kid goes for NIL, think Texas or TAMU…..
Best teams money can buy.
Dabo looks for character, intelligence, and team players.
Not the ‘best talent Monet can buy’ …..

While UGA gets their share they’ve started to put more of a priority into recruiting nation wide. We had one heck of a haul out of GA in 2023 Class. I believe GA is still our #1 priority in recruiting due to the talent that comes out of that state and proximity.

You are obviously correct. Georgia recruits all over and has nothing to do with what Clemson does.

Oh my goodness, Texas has always been on Clemson's list of states to recruit. Where do your comments even come from?
I will say that Texas is slightly overrated and I have my reasons for saying that. Part of that is there is a well known divider for talent in this state and that is Interstate 35 which runs north south from Oklahoma to San Antonio and from there it veers west.
There's barely any talent west of 35 and almost all talent comes from DFW and Houston, plus East Texas. Hardly any of our recruits come from San Antonio and southern parts, plus west of 35. There are obvious reasons for that, but not getting into that.
There are exceptions, obviously, such as the OT you signed last year from Odessa and guys like the late Cedric Benson from Midland.

J C Chalk from recent history and I could go back and try and remember a few more if I need to. It's not that you don't recruit here, landing them is another story as well.
Kellen Jones was from Houston.
A long time ago, you had a kicker or a punter from Plano named Jason Schaefer and you had an OL from San Antonio named Mike Kunz.
But, point taken, very few.
In all fairness, however, nobody from this state knew anything about Clemson really until Dabo. Nobody wanted to play for Tommy Bowden and most Texans don't even know what state Clemson resides in.

than any other state (70 more than FL last year per Bleachers). For 2023 cycle 24/7 has FL with the most 5 stars and TX 2nd. Clemson has historically had basically NO recruiting success in TX until VERY recently and were not getting any share of that big ol' pie. Over the past 15 yrs: '09-'11 (zero on roster), '12-'14 (1-Jones was transfer from OK), '15 (zero), '16-'19 (1-Chalk who was G.Stallings grandson who was Dabo's HC), '20-'21 (2), 2022 (3), 2023 (6 So our recent recruiting success in TX is a VERY BIG DEAL! I realize you're a guest visitor on here but please don't try to sound like you know what you're talking about unless you actually do
